I noticed that bike whistles around 30-40mph, pretty loudly. Can even hear it with ear plugs.  Seems like it is a wind whistle from the front somewhere.
Also noticed both headlights are on with low beam.  I though the 01-05 models only had one headlight on low beam.

No whistle on my 05....

So, you are the 'other guy' !! Congrats sir, you have great taste in motorcycles :D

Harry is one cool dude, his health is less than great but his will is strong, I hope he can get back on his bike soon.

PM me if you want to get together for a ride, Im just outside New Haven. Planning to get out for a few hours tomorrow.

Looks Great! There are quite a few changes from 05.

Get some sliders when there available for the 06. TJ

Here is the reason why the gas tank stays cool. The Yamaha website for the FJR has an excellent description with graphics of the heat management and changes made to direct the air flow.

"The heat management system also directs low temperature air through vents on the sides of the headlights. This cool air enters the area between the fairing and frame creating a high pressure area. This high pressure pushes the air through a cool air inlet at the front of the frame. The cool air then passes above a new formed heat shield located above the engine and absorbs any heat that escapes above the heat shield. The air then exits the motorcycle between the fairing panels below and behind the rider."

With air flowing between the heat shield and the bottom of the gas tank, the gas tank is going to stay cool. https://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/airManagement.aspx

Yup, both headlights on hi or lo on all years FJR, at least North America ones.

Yamaha might have a market on improved fairing/ airflow kits for "ancient" FJR's.

Here is what I hope to be the beginings of many more FJR photo galleries to come.

I will take off the seat and shoot some photos of the height adjustment later tonight. If there is anything in paticular you would like a peak at, let me know.

Thanks for the great photos. But remember!,

YOU NOW HAVE A GREAT RESPONSIBILITY! :exclamation:

There may be 1000's of guys reading this site at any time and only a limited number of new 2006 FJR's.

To show your excitement and joy is expected from the lucky ones who get the new bike :hyper: , BUT.

For the others, it can lead to depression :sad2: , anger :argue: , unnecessay anxiety  and in some rare cases, attempted suicide: :russian: ie: someone going out on their old bike trying to act like it's a new FJR going 160 mph. Now that's suicide! :nono:

So be happy, :D but be gentle with the rest of us,

"who can only dream of joys (FJRS) yet to come" :mmm:
