Forum Rule #9

9. FJRForum.com is aware of only one legitimate online source for service manuals--that being Yamaha at this link. Promoting piracy or referencing spurious manuals that are too cheap to be legal on eBay or other websites is not allowed. (meaning you can provide evidence it's a bonafide source to an admin if asked) Buy a frickin' $90 manual for your $14K+ motorcycle. This also goes for Yamaha technical bulletins that are copyrighted.

Look, Ford makes manuals for it's cars and trucks but so does Chilton and Haynes which are not OEM. Whats to keep a company like Chilton or Haynes (but for bikes) from making legit motorcycle manual for our bikes? Also, the fact that something is cheap on eBay doesn't make it illegal. I don't normally check Haynes's copyright agreements with Ford before I purchase their manuals online. To me, this is no different. I wasn't looking for a legal lecture...just wanted to know if anyone had used this disc before.

If it's a disc on eBay, it's an illegally photocopied manual. Period. So it is different.

That's why rule #9 exists in the first place.

There are no aftermarket model-specific FJR service manuals.

The Haynes manuals are not ripoffs of Ford's manuals. Haynes writes their manuals by actually getting the car and doing a complete teardown.

Photocopying a Yamaha manual and selling it as a CD on eBay is a ripoff.

"Not my link". I just copied and pasted from the forum rules and policies section. You may want to try there if your interested in the link.

I wasn't trying to give you a legal lecture. Only trying to make you aware of the FJRforum policies. Maybe this isn't my place to do so but I am sure the admin's will be along shortly. And the answer is no i havn't used the disc.

Dave.

Two mutually exlusive statements when it comes to Yamaha Factory Service Manuals available ANYWHERE in PDF compilations.

just wanted to know if anyone had used this disc before.
Yep...thieves and scoundrels alike use them all the time.
