I'm already looking for a new shield as well. When you get your new +2 flip, are you going to get it stock width or wider?

FWIW, here's the response I received on a V-stream queary from a few days ago for '06/'07 models:

"Hello Gary,

It is not available yet. It has just recently been sent out for testing and

DOT approval. We are hoping to have the shield available by late February to

mid march. That is just a projection though and may be earlier or later then

the actual release date.

Yeah, and I'm still pissed about it! We lost a great asset to the board just because a bunch of F&^( Sticks would rather play follow the LEADER than recognize a persons contribution. I at least hope we are wiser now.

Hey, hey hey... talk's cheap Grumpy. Have vinyl will stripe. You buy the bike, I'll get the vinyl and apply some gawdawful bumblebee stripes to that beast. Dare ya!

Yeah, Mine has been on order since LAST April. Don't hold your breath.

After all this time I'll prob stay with the stocker.

Now back to the original review and the suspension comments. I, too, found that my '06 needed 0 adjustments front or rear. OTOH I "twiddled" with my '03's adjusters for @ a month b4 I found a satisfactory group of settings. My '06, to me, is very simply a superior bike to the earlier one all the way around plus she doesn't cook me when the temps go above 70F. GR8 motorcycle, but (t) she does need a better, more ergonomic saddle. Stock is to soft and gets uncomfy for me after an hour or so which is ludicrous for a bike like this. DFO

Great write up. Why are you only going to a Cee Baileys +2? Please post the results once you do. I am very interested in replacing the stock shield on my 06.

I found the +4 to be too tall for my height. I had been planning to cut an extra +4 down by 2" but sold the 05. I suspect the extra width of the 07 stock shield all but matches the CB. So another 2" plus a "flip" should work out nicely for me. I have not seen any other windscreen that surpasses the quiet envelope of the CB, unless it is very tall and IMO disturbs the lines of the bike. Guess windscreens are getting to be like chocolate. Everybody has their favorite.

Jeff did you look at Givi? I have that one on my 06 and love it. 2" over stock with flip and less $$, plus air coming off the top of the shield no turbulance.

Got to add my thanks for the write up- I feel much better now!

I had a choice between an '03, an '05 or a new FJR. I thought they wanted too much for the '05 ($12k) compared to what I thought the new bike would cost- hadn't figured on how much they could add. After seeing what I ended up paying for the '07 I really wondered if I had done the right thing, so thank you very much!

I'm only 5'8" so maybe I'll get away with the stock screen?

For me it's not the height of the screen that matters so much. It's the "flip" that I like. Produces a nice quiet pocket of air so that I do not need ear plugs for long runs or high speeds. The extra height is what I like to prevent me from having to raise the shield position up from the bottom. Ideally I like for my "normal" position to be all the way down and reserve the raised positions for heavy rain, heavy bugs or extreme cold.

I ordered a +4w x +2h +flip CB today. We'll see how it works.

Dude, you are in San Antone. I lived in the RGV for a couple years and I know how hot SA gets. Tell your SO that you need your nuts (unroasted) and simply must have an 07 before summer. Then tell her about how much better the passenger pegs, seat and overall sitting position is for the SO.

Then tell her you will even consider a "chik" color like Black Cherry so that she will like it too.

When you get it just twist the grip until YOU turn blue. All will be good!
