Howie,

That's the way I envision that thing functions. As to adjustability, I magnified the original pdf version of the image I think you may be right, that does look like it could be a high idle adjustment. What if you sight under the throttle bodies from the right hand side of the bike. Can you possibly access the head of that adjuster screw (if that is what it really is) with a really long thin screwdriver from that side?

If so, it could answer a LOT of Gen II fast idle issues!

I'll take a look tonite and report back. I can't imagine you'd see a gawdamn thing in there. It's a LONG way through a lot of "stuff" from the right side of the throttle body assembly to the left side.

Take a REAL long, narrow screwdriver!

I have made and also purchased several of the following. Add a Maglite with fresh batteries plus the ability to pin point the light and you are good to go.

Alan,

You are an eternal optimist. You of anybody knows how much "crap" and how little room there is in the TB area. :)

Hit up your local pulmonologist for a fiber optic bronchoscopy scope, or an ENT doctor for his scope... just don't tell him/her what you are going to do with it.

Great ideas and sensible ideas.

Almost forgot I promised to check this on my '04. Just came in after a 10 minute search with Maglite and mirror.....

IF there is an adjustment on the fast-idle mechanism, there's no chance in hell you can get to it with the throttle bodies mounted.

At least not that I can see.
