Well I wasn't looking for another Ducati but I am too weak to pass up sweet deal when it comes my way. 2008 Hypermotard 1100S with under 1500 miles on it for 2 grand under KBB. I took it out for a little test ride tonight and I'm guessing the front tire will last forever.

OK. Really. How much do they pay firemen in ND? I've seen how many boots you own. Did you get new Italian boots to match this bike?

#1: They do not pay ND firemen enough to support my habit. #2: I'm afraid you have not seen how many boots I own, since I've recently added a pair of Sidi Adventure Gore-Tex, and Sidi Discovery Rain boots to my collection. #3: I do not need any new Italian boots to match this bike because I already own 7 pairs of Sidi Italian motorcycle boots.

And I don't want Jealousy. I need help, maybe a support group, or counseling. I was thinking of setting up a gofundme.com account to ease the financial pain of my condition.

I think the only help you're gonna get is volunteers to ride them if you bring a trailer full like in the past.

Afraid you are SOL on the support group, Just a bunch of enablers here. WE know how to spend your money.

I had one of those with a full Termignoni exhaust and loved it. Sound of music. Best bike I ever rode in the NC mountains. Unreal handling and brakes. Enjoy!

Abercrombie, we are the exact opposite of a support group. Spending other people's money is a cherished past time around here. Maybe you should give your wallet to your wife...

Wait, what?? Nevermind!! Don't EVER do that!

Congrats on the purchase. That's a nice looking machine. I can only imagine what a hoot it would be to put it through it's paces. Enjoy!

Well thanks. I purchased the Hypermotard a year ago in September. The post was sort of brought back from the dead, and yes it is a very fun machine but it's not in its element here on the flat planes of ND. This bike would be much more enjoyable in the mountains or canyons but I do have fun riding through the Minnesota lake country.

This bike like this is sort of like a good woman. If you aren't a little bit afraid of them they aren't much fun to be around.

Wow, I missed that one (Date of Post). Oh well, wouldn't be the first. But I have been considering another bike in the stable. Which a Ducati is on the radar. Our dealer out here is really cool about test rides. So I may need to take advantage of their gracious offer.

No problem. northsouth brought the thread back to life from a 13 month dirt nap and there isn't a damn thing wrong with that. I'm sure the new hypermotards are better, but be careful to have both hands on the bars when you first started out. I brought the bike home, unloaded it from the pickup and started it to go the two blocks home from my unloading location. I was adjusting something with my left hand and grabbed a little too much throttle with the right. I thought I had unleashed the devil and I barely got my left hand back on the bars before I'd biffed it just feet from the unloading location. It was definitely a case of one handed whiskey throttle.
