Sorry, was out riding at the end of the month. My April total is 5734 miles.

8 feet? Pffft, a real man could have at least gotten it 10 feet.

220 miles today escorting The Wall That Heals, a half scale replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall. It will be in Louisiana for some time.

Today, 225 motorcycles escorted the semi containing the wall to a Middle School's double football field and River Road from I-310 to the school was lined with patriots cheering, respecting, and welcoming home the Vietnam Veterans present giving them the accolades they so richly deserve and didn't receive on their homecoming from the conflict. I was moved by the support and affection showed by many including the elementary, middle, and high schools students from all over the area. Active duty military were on hand to shake the hands of all veterans and set up the wall under the guidance of the experts that travel with the wall. It was a great experience and day, and one I will always remember. Touching the wall brought goosebumps and deep respect to all that gave the ultimate price in the conflict.

Local Coverage of the Event

Today's escort was from the LA/MS state line to Destrehan, LA which is a suburb of New Orleans next to my home in Metairie. It will next go to Baton Rouge and be set up next to the USS Kidd USN destroyer museum attraction. It will be there for Memorial Day.
