I am considering buying a new 2009 ae, anything I should watch out for?

YES! A very, very good price. The '09s are pretty well sorted out and should have no real problems. Many AEs have a love affair with the dealer and don't leave home willingly so dealers will almost always make better deals on an AE than a standard FJR, even though the AE's MSRP is higher.

I the same bike as mine... and YES I did get a great price from the stealer... He even got one more in sometime over the winter....

One Issue... Kinda clunky on a cold start... fix is getting the dealer to soak the clutch for 24 hours...

Other wise I love it..

The color is kewl too

How much? My dealer wants $13897.00

Thanks Larry

Larry,

There was a year or so that so many AE's were on the the showroom floor that the price really fell thru the floor. I paid 10.5 for a new 08AE at end of summer 09.

Here's what some searching on Cycletrader resulted in Link

A dealer in Altus, OK has the 09AE listed for 11999. If your local won't go down to 12.5 or less, I would walk.

My local dealer has had the same AE on the showroom floor for at least six months. A friend of mine tried to make a deal on it and couldn't, but his problem was trade in value of his existing bike. If you are not trading in anything, keep negotiating.

I'm looking at an '09 FJR1300A, black, 1,750 miles, with an OE trunk. Asking price $10,990. OK price?

Not a bad price but If the asking is 11K. I would suggest offering 10K. You might end up settling in the middle (10.5K)

Not knowing the short 1750 mile history, you might consider a new machine (which will have a lower interest rate if your financing it). A quick glance on Cycletrader shows the 2009A's can be bought new for 12k (11.9) without negotiation.
