I am signed up too. I am planning a ride in March to hit the 3 close ones near the Tri-Cities

See Post #17. Unless I'm missing the boat (which happens), the 2009 dams haven't been announced yet. You might want to hold off on planning just yet.

they have, and I can't remember where I saw it, but my Dam isn't on this year's list...lemme see if I can find it for ya

I have mapped out a route to CFR from Vancouver and the return trip that includes all the Wash. Dams. Only around 40-50 more miles each way:

2andFromCFR.jpg

Vancouver, Wa to Nakusp: 682 miles. (4) Dams.

Nakusp to Vancouver: 673 miles. (4) Dams.

Note, it is 596 the dull way to Spokane then north.

And it would be 634 if one would take FR25, 12, 97 and 20 to Republic. An Excellent route.

O'Sullivan was dropped and Dry Falls added in Washington.

Applegate was dropped and Toketee added in Oregon.

Rider Cards will be mailed Feb 24th. So sign up, start planning your rides and have fun.

I wish I knew if I was going to be able to make more then just a couple of dams, then I would sign up. It makes me laugh that Rock Creek Dam is on the list. I spent a large portion of my life in and around that lake sense a lot of my family members have vacation places around that lake and my dad just moved up there to his place. In the summer time alot of the water leaves the lake and if your not careful when riding across the "dam", you will miss it. lol Blufjr and I rode right past it on our way to Maupin last summer. I will probably be going there (Rock Creek Reservoir) a few times this summer.

Well, I received my DAMTOUR package sometime in the past week complete with laminated number for showing off in the photos. #9040. This is another topic we can chat about during the get together at AuburnFJR's in a couple of weeks. For $20, I figured it was worth signing up for if only to help the cause. Now that I have done it though, I will probably take a pretty good swing at the list. Should be able to nail a few of them to and fro CFR and those of you doing WFO should be able to hit several more.

Glad to see Dry Falls is on there for nostalgia reasons, I tested the FJR's upper end somewhere in that area last year, but chickened out before the bike topped out. My brain kept telling me what the downside was if I got caught by the POPO. I guess that what age does to you, it wouldn't have crossed my mind in the old days. GPS said 130 was where I gave up, my pillion said it felt more like 90 and was never concerned. It was smooth.

In. When is the dry season up there?
It usually is raining somewhere up here. :p

But seriously, it varies on the location (more rainy in the northwest tip of Oregon for instance, and much less so East of the Cascades), and whether we are in a rainy or dry winter cycle. Rainy cycle currently I am told. But Summer is usually pretty dry most everywhere unless the odd rainstorm comes in -- like anyplace else. We do have a rainforest or two.

Good to see you sign up. I'll be looking for your yellow helmet -- wave back to me this time will ya? :p
