I did Steve's RWYB and it was a blast last year but missed out on 1088 so I'm planning to do the 2009. Sounds like a blast, I hear he does a mean BBQ.

sounds like fun,any other fjr'rs gonna do this?
Only to the extent that so many FJRs tend to ride the event that things quiet down on the forum and 3/4 of the admins of this forum are at the event. ;) I think we've had one or two years where 4 of the Top 10 have been FJR's.

I am really tempted to plan the rest of my 2009 PTO so I can attend this rally.

Based on previous years, any prediction when the 75 spots will be taken and registration will close?

I sent my registration in. Steve the rallymaster says 15 spots are still open and the rally usually fills by Christmas (but the state of the economy may be slowing things down a bit).

Who else is planning on it?

I was going to try and improve on my 48th place finish from 2008 but I have the opportunity to take on a cross country trip the same week as the 1088 so maybe 2010.

Thinkin' about it. I have one 24 hr rally in my budget for next year. Hard to decide - Cal 24, Utah 1088, Nevada 1099, possibly a COG event??

Only time I tried the 1088 was in 07. Lots of IBR riders were there with game faces on. Warchild ****** up his arm and DNSd. I turned in my worst rally performance ever. It was humbling. I think even Eric V beat me.
