Hey, any information leaks out there? Let's start here to submit some concrete facts, if available. Let's stay away from the usual rumors and babble...

Latest word from Yammie is that they're going to reconceive the whole project as a 750cc adventure bike. They're agreeing with BMW that the sport-touring market is dead, but they want to go forward with a smaller touring model.

Not.

While speaking with my dealer for the ignition switch recall...

"production is down 40% for 09's and can not get anything"

Will there be an 010 run?

'zactly. That's the real question IMO.

People may have to start writing letters again....and hope for the PDP.

Well, people that don't already own one should do that. For those of us that already own the best sport touring bike available, it may be in our own best interest if they would discontinue them. Then our bikes immediately become more valuable! ;)

It's only March and we are already starting this? I know...How's about we skip ahead and just start the usual rumors and babble for the 2011s or maybe the 2015s. If we're gonna think, we should think big.

Yes, there's lots of information out there about the 2010 FJR. Yamaha - whom has absolutely zero competitive instincts, routinely announces fully 8 months ahead of their annual dealer meeting the changes in store for their next model year line-up. They don't want to hurt anyone's feelings about coming out with a bike that might be more competitive than other manufuacturers', and feel that prematurely announcing everything they do will level the playing field. Matter of fact, they've even recently released this photo of the 2010 FJR in track trials. Note how it's cleverly disguised as a drag bike...

, I'd hope we could order an 010 in any color previously produced. They still make plastic, yeah?

Diddo!! :clapping:

and to help improve sales, you can mix and match any panels, tank, plastic, wheels, etc. in whatever colors ya want from past years - I've always wanted a FJR Zebra

Actually they should create a smaller version of it. Honda has the 800cc Deauville (electric windshield, side bags, shaft drive) but not in the US. We need something like that! BMW has the F800ST but with a fixed windshield and BMW expense.

Friday news. Motorcycle Daily reported that the 2010's will be made in Europe (France), and will come equipped with a Bidet at the request of long distance riders. And shavers. Kinda' like a drinking fountain for others.

My guess is that unless they have already re-tooled, Yamaha will just change the color of some bike part and call it good enough if demand for '09's remains stale.
