We've heard from many on the US side of the pond that the FJR300AE is no longer available (other than current stock).

I went to the Birmingham NEC Motorcycle Show today. I have to say a poor show, and several manufacturers didn't show (that includes Honda and Harley Davidson, at least not that I could find).

Anyway, Yamaha were there. I asked about availability of the FJR1300AS (as the AE is called in the UK), and was assured there were no plans to drop it here.

Also saw an FJR in British police colours, couple of pictures,

Good news! Thanks for sharing!

And there's something visually appealing about the horrific stickers they put all over that bike. I know it's for police use, but wow. I love it and hate it at the same time. :dribble:

Good news!!! Got to keep the AE faith alive!

We went to that show a couple of times. I thought it was in early November?

Major posers there! We saw a guy drive up in his Ford Escort (?), get out and proceed to put on his leathers, boots and grab his helmet before he went inside the building. Sheesh!

Just hope I don't find one chasing me, I probably couldn't lose a motorcycle policeman on an inferior bike, I certainly couldn't lose one on an FJR.

As far as I can tell, they make it later each year. It's probably in the hopes that the weather will be worse and more will go go by car to fill their coffers from the car parking fees. M/Cs park free.

Bet his leathers had tassels.

That is pretty funny! :)

Perhaps he was between bikes and going on one of the bike demo rides at the show... ;)

Just got a Holiday Sale email from one of the local MC shops...

It only showed a FJR 1300A model in their 2010 line ( so far)

color Liquid Silver ,,, MSRP of $15,190 available Feb. 2010

Liquid Silver @ $15,190 :dribble: :angry2: :dribble:

I had the pleasure of spending a few days in London this summer. Yeah, those police and emergency vehicles were hard to miss!

I have to agree sadly. I have always been a yamaha guy but I am actually probably gonna be in the market for another sport tourer and the Kawasaki is leaps and bounds ahead of the FJR right now. :(

Especially at keeping you warm in these colder temps we've been having. Oh, and it's also leaps and bounds ahead in roasting your nuts off during the summer. But apart from that I like the new Connie...well, except for the horrific styling but that's nothing an aftermarket exhaust and a sawzall wouldn't take care of.

The Yamaha web site only shows the one FJR model available for 2010, no AE model. I came close to trading in my FJR for the Kawi when the grounding issue surfaced again. I decided to hold on to mine a little longer since I have it set up they way I like it. (The Kawi's come with a 3 year warranty.)

You might want to recheck that info. my dealer has confirmed that is not being offered for 2010 and probably wiil not be back in the near future and it does not show up on the Yamaha web site. I'm on my second AE and I enjoy the bike but it has never been popular and not produced in and big numbers and with the down turn in motorcycle sales it appears Yamaha has made a decision to drop models that are low volume in sales.

Meanwhile Honda is introducing the VFR1200 that has an auto & manual clutch features on the same bike. Hopefully Yamaha is planning a major update to the FJR, but it doesn't appear that way.
