Once I heard of this a couple years back I have also thought.... I should try this.

I wonder if I should get a new bike first... OR will the old one hold together.

Tom,

This is a must do rally. I will doing it again this year. We can ride out together. You just finshed breaking your bike in....why would you need a new one?

"I will doing it again this year"...........No way, you are one of those professional Iron Butt riders. The next thing Jacques and Jennyfer will be riding in this rally. ;)

Color me very curious on this one. Maybe I'll take a run over to Peter's and take him out to lunch to pick his brain. Besides, if Perry is gonna do the mentor thing with Black Cock Rider, Peter might do the same for me.

Hey Bungie, anytime. The Rendezvous is great fun, and the border crossing makes it a bit more interesting.

Hope to have the Feejer on the road after next weekend. Still a few switches to install, and a bit of plastic to replace.

Saw your bike in Verner the other day. It was looking lonely and bored. Needs to stretch its legs.

PD

Aww. See, that's why I love my FJR. We both feel the same way.

I was talking to Jim in Verner last week via email. Apparently they only needed to do the valve check and it would be ready for pick up anytime. I'm worried that the first ride will be really strange (New Ohlins + Russell = +/- 2" in seat height). Now we only need for spring to make a real appearance and a couple of good stout rainfalls to wash the shit off the roads. I'm discounting this past week as a bit of a fluke -30C in the morning.. in late March... seriously?!

I was serious about being more than curious about the rally. I've never done one before so I'd be coming in as a complete newb. Given my lack of vacation time this year (new job, again, start on Monday) has me with none. So I'm looking for rides/stuff to do with in a days ride from here. South of Montreal is entirely doable.

I'll give you a shout soon and see if we can't arrange a little lunch time across from Jean Guy Rubber Boots (BAHAHAHAHA! That still cracks me up!).

Maybe we should try a team approach..... You and Peter........Me and "Black Cock Rider" (not sure where that name came from!). Our own Canadian version of North versus South!

WOOHOO! A chance to post 'the pic'!

Well Peter and I are at a disadvantage right from the start. I have the worlds worst sense of direction. If my GPS calves I'll have to rely on maps... that I can't see unless I take off my glasses and the blind guy thing an inch from my nose. Then again, I could whip up some software to... <cough> least cost analysis.. <cough>

I say "Game on!", North versus South, kinda like that american rivalry. Perry, sounds like your guy has sent a bit too much time down south already.
