Well, as of right now I will not be able to attend. An opportunity for work came up on Saturday that I felt obligated to take. Now, should this be moved to the Sunday rain date I will most likely be back on board. It was a tough decision because this looks like a great ride and on roads I have been on before. Enjoy all and hopefully see you next time.
I'm actually the opposite of you "nervous",

Sat. ride is the only chance for me b/c Sun (AM) has 2 be the ride home, I got a JetSki date with one of my hotties for that Sunday ;) and the hotter the better cuz less clothes is a good thing, she's so crazy and fun, man... I will have to back out if the ride falls to Sunday.

think u can understand my reasoning...

Hey Top_Speed1, if Saturdays canceled I could always go and help unload those jet skis for you
You come from that far away u would have to stay for a ride! ...she has g/f's too! ...so you may really get a ride ;)
:yahoo:

Fred, MarFJR, Pepperell, and ionbeam, do you have any interest in meeting up near your neck o' the woods to ride to NY together? I'm in Providence and would be up for heading due north to convene and then point 'em west together.

We'll be leaving here pretty late on Friday, probably won't be able to get away until 6PM or so. So we're just planing on blasting across Rte 9 through Keene to Troy, NY, then whatever the most direct route is to the Super 8 in Johnstown. Won't be much of a fun ride route.

Yeah! What's your excuse Marty? Was hopin' to see you kids again this time.
Thanks guys! Suffering from an acute lack of work and funds, and on Monday Sally starts teaching summer school for the next 3 weeks, so no time to get away. AND the in-laws are coming to town that day for a family reunion.... hooray

Perhaps someone could send me a Garmin file or two, I do want to get up there some time this summer.

Remember your radar detectors!!! I don't see anyone on the list that would keep the group under the performance award threshold. :D

Sorry to hear 'bout that. Keep the August NERDS gathering in mind. A couple of the planned routes cover some of these same roads in NY. If you can't swing the hotel costs, there are several nice campgrounds in the Stowe area.

Also, the GPS routes for this ride are linked to (by Art) in his the post.

I was really hoping to sneak this one in, but it looks like I'm out. Some travelers spending the night at my place on the 17th on their way out to NAFO.

Ditto. I have a compulsory meeting with a customer during the morning, so it'll be a late start. We will probably be following the trail that Fred is blazing. ETA at Super 8 is 6:00.

Like Fred, that would be postmeridian.

Now that I've actually taken a look at the route out there, it looks like we'll just take Rte 9 across NH and VT, then go from Bennington up through Saratoga to skirt around Troy/Albany. Should take right around 4 Hrs. Our arrival will depend mostly on when we can get out of here. ;)

Unfortunately, we won't be making it to this one. It's the "work" thing. I would have liked meeting some of the folks I haven't met, meeting some I haven't seen in a couple years, and of course the folks that I ride more frequently with. So many of the Dacks roads are incredible. It's killin' me, I tell ya... :(

The weather is shaping up for the Adacks ride next weekend. I'm excited to start my 500+ mile ride to Johnstown next Friday. It will be nice to put some faces to names I read here on the forum. I wanted to share this weather link which I've never seen before. It is really the most comprehensive weather site I've found and it shows detailed future precipitation, etc. Even though things look good from this far out, it still is weather and is subject to change. I'll be there rain or shine.

WeatherSpark Johnstown, NY

Calling for rain weds-thurs am. That will work!

Hope its nice and yes, we all might need name tags with our forum names on top and real names on bottom ;)
