It was looking to be a great weekend weather wise. Timing wasn't there to meet and ride in, so everyone came in on their own. We stopped in Goshen at the Dan Ingalls overlook. Colors were kind of subdued:

Janet and I arrived at OCI to find these two waiting on the porch:

A Canadian invader! Rob said he missed EOM, so had to make this one. What a great surprise. He and my brother crossed paths on the way in. I will let Rob tell the rest of that story.

Robert and the girls were enjoying the front porch too. FJRacer also has hhis own story to tell.

Saturday morning started off quite cool. Janet was glad I equipped her with the Gerbings liner for this ride. I think it was 41 when we pulled out. Here are a couple from the Highland scenic highway:

And a couple from the top of Snowshoe:

Williams River Road was scenic as usual:

All in all a great weekend with great people. Can't wait to do it again!

Nice pics and looked to be a bit cooler ride than ours. Guess the subdued color thing is running rampant this year as ours out west (unless they get better with more time) appear to be not to brilliant this year as well.

What a great weekend!!! I rode north and spent the night in Niagara Falls. Thanks Bob for putting this together.

Rob

I was extremely disappointed in the colors this year. But for sure... ran through some really nicely colored areas on occasion. I think the best were on Rte 250 in the George Washinton National Forest that I ran through on my way out. No pics... was riding. Everytime that I decided I'd stop & get a picture, It started looking crappy, again. I said SCREW IT after the 3rd attempt.

& had fun riding. That always makes for a good time. Thanks for spearheading Bob.

Richard and I are holed up in Mt. Airy waiting out the rain. Taking advantage of the

down time to get Richard a new rear tire before continuing our trip south.

I has a great time this weekend. Was great to see old friends again and make some

new ones. The riding this weekend was spectacular. Was good to hear Robert got

home OK. His poor bike - ouch!

Timing is everything. While Richard and I were at the Ingalls overlook a car pulls up

and six beautiful women get out to have a look. They were very friendly and

wanted to hear all about our trip and offered to share their lunch with us.

After lots of hugs ( and pictures, which I'll only share in person ) we reluctantly

said our goodbyes and continued on our way. All I can say is...wow!

Well, Virginia IS for lovers, right?

Tomorrow we'll aim toward Cherokee on the BRP.

Hope to see everyone again, soon.

Ride safe.

Just want to add that I had another great time with great bunch of people! Was some great riding and views. but, need to get out and ride more than twice a year to stay sharp! Darn that pontoon boat! Decided to run straight home, more rain in New England. Thanks Bob for letting me hang with you and your FJR friends!

Looks like fun.

Yeah, our colors are less than spectacular this year too. Has something to do with the global re-syncronization of moonlight savings time, so I hear. In any case, I'd take your temps to our this past weekend. What lies next can not be good... no, not at all.

Good on you for getting together and enjoying the best time of the year to be a motorcyclist!!

See you all soon!

What a great weekend. I took hwy 219 all the way from Marlinton to Buffalo. 2600 or so kms for the weekend.I stopped in Niagara Falls on the way home and spent the night. Managed to stay dry all weekend.

Was good to hear Robert got

home OK. His poor bike - ouch!

Okay...wassup wid dis?

Which Robert and how bad?
Not this Robert. FJRACER Robert went down on one of the mountain twisties. Pea gravel in the corners got him. Believe it or not in our small group of 8 there was four (4) Roberts!!

I do believe it was Snowshoe Drive where it happened. A wash of the front tire on the gravel. Messed his bike up pretty bad... thank the good Lord he was ok.

Tell-tail signs of a good time.

You should tour the place..... very nice smells.... of course the samples at the end of the tour are nice as well.
That's where that bag came from. The bottle that was in it was hand dipped by me when my brother and I were there August'08. I still have the one Janet dipped on the way to NAFO.

It was Rt 66 just 1.2 miles west of Cass. There was gravel in most of the turns in the new pavement section.

Oh, I thought we were still on Snowshoe Drive... & knew that we were near Cass. In any event, it really doesn't matter anyway. I'm glad he's ok.
