2013 Cats & Dacks Ride 6/14 & 6/15

I have a room reserved for CFR, but Paul wants to go to SW-FOG and it is at the same time.

We were talking about Key West and New Orleans in the spring so we have a lot of places to go and have not yet worked up a schedule.
I'm thinking about combining Key West, New Orleans, and maybe the Gathering of the Clans if they have it in May. That would give us a chance to ride a bit in Colorado. I think that's why Paul wants to go to SW-FOG instead of CFR,. He loves the big sweepers in the Rockies. And then the Cat's and Daks and CFR. That leaves NERDS and EOM for later in the season.

That's a good bit of riding there Greg.

As I already mentioned to roadrunner (privately), Josie and I have plans for CFR Ontario this spring, which is the following weekend. Unfortunately, there is just no way for us to get away for two weekends in a row. Having added the Friday Cats ride back into the ride plan is an awesome idea! I'm sure that you folks will have a great time.
What a great dilemma to be in: Too many great FJR events to attend.

Fred, You and Joann will be missed. Or you could take a page from Gregs book and do both.

Ooooo.....sounds like fun. Looks like you counted me in already (good).I only have one question (so far ;-))

Is this a ride that will occur rain or shine? If it's a fair weather ride and it rains that weekend, do you have a rain date in mind?

Yes I always count you and Jim in.

I haven't thought of rain date, so pack rain gear, and it won't rain. I hope.

With all the rides going on, and vac time, if we have a rain date I'm affraid most won't be able to go anyway.

I just reserved a room for Friday and Saturday. I'll meet you guys Friday morning along the route, probably where 30 meets 443 in Schoharie.

I know Art is busy right now with personal stuff.

I called the Microtel to reserve a room for Friday and Saturday, June 14 and 15, and the young lady could not find the 'Cats & Dacks' group. She took my reservation and gave me the group rate anyway. I was wondering if anyone else has reserved and if they had any trouble, just to sanity check that I reserved at the right place. The number I called is 518-762-5425 for the Microtel in Johnstown.

But I will have to be 2-up this time however, the g/f has been clinging to me lately like a fresh roll of Charmin. Snowmobiling is winding down so I'm switching "mental' gears soon and this sounds like much fun and seeing/meeting all da fine folks again.

2- Routes have been added.

3- Due to the sudden and unexpected passing of my beloved companion Felicia, I will not be able to host the Friday dinner at the Hotel. I will still be setting up a tarp for PLS, but we are all going to have to go out for dinner.

So I plan on coming in to JTown Microtel on Friday nite, as the new update (EDIT) has it; Saturday will be the Cats and is this now wrote in stone?

I'm game with the Cats (on Sat) and it will be our only full day of riding w the group. Taking off the following week for CFR, so my time is shortchanged a tad for the Cats n Daks

With the updated agenda I have decided to ride up on Thursday evening and stay three nights. I'll probably take the long way home on Sunday. My son-in-law may join me if he can get the time off from work. He rides a Honda NC700X. If Tom comes along we'll probably arrive well after dark. If he can't make it then I'll be there some time before dinner.

I remember finding a place very near the hotel last year that had a nice bar with a couple of very good beers on tap. The food looked good too, but I don't remember if we ate there. I think it was Sam's. It looks like it's an easy walk from the Microtel so I suggest we go there on Friday.
