I'm selling the bike because my knees & legs have problems after being on the bike all day. Ok for a hundred or so miles but after that they ache badly. Going into it I thought the forward lean may cause issues but it never did. I didn't expect to have leg problems.

Sorry to hear.........maybe try a different style bike?? What about a cruiser where your legs are more out front?

GL on the sale.

Thank you. I also have an 09 Raider that fits pretty well. The fjr was intended for longer trips with the heated grips, wind protection & storage. When the weather breaks i'll go looking for something else. I think the new Tenere is worth a look.

I had a similar problem and solved it with these two items from Motorcycle Larry's website. So glad I did. I have set my bike up for 500 mile days or so. I started out with the hwy pegs and that helped to at least change the foot position. Plus they fit tight into the bike and look OEM. The second item I bought was the peg lowering brackets. I was concerned that they would be too low and I would scrub my boots. Not a concern as when I'm in the twisties I'm more on the ball of my foot and ready for turns. Only a couple of times have I scraped the toe on a very tight turn when I was just relaxed and not thinking about my feet being relaxed and pointed down. The peg lowering brackets is what stopped the knee pain from a long day of riding. The third thing I bought was the risers and I brought the bars all the way back. It changed my riding position and that helped out as well.

Good luck on the sale of the bike.

Now Howie, why ya gotta be a buzzkill?

Code:
The Scorpion and the Frog "A scorpion and a frog meet on the bank of a stream and the scorpion asks the frog to carry him across on its back. The frog asks, "How do I know you won't sting me?" The scorpion says, "Because if I do, I will die too." The frog is satisfied, and they set out, but in midstream, the scorpion stings the frog. The frog feels the onset of paralysis and starts to sink, knowing they both will drown, but has just enough time to gasp "Why?" Replies the scorpion: "Its my nature..."

Thank you for all the replies.

Even if the cruise has some drawbacks for some, the heated grips & windscreen are great!

On the bright side of the cruise limited to 80 mph. If you get a ticket saying you were doing over 80 mph you can say impossible.... I had my cruise on.
