So, looking over the pictures I'd taken, I had a closer look at this one:

and on the paper on the seat ...
That top left word?
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh .....
In a blind panic, I rang the dealer.
"WTF?????????????????"
"Calm down", he says, "it's all right, it's got the full cajones. The label is nothing to do with the specification. France is simply the European distribution point, Japan ships them to France for distribution to the UK."
Phew.
