Scary. It seemed like he was practically standing still when he brought it back under 100.

Don't speedometers run off the front wheel anymore? How do you show speed acceleration during a wheelie?

Didn't look like 200+MPH to me.

Fake.

Looked at it again. Maybe it was. Sweet vid, none the less....

No cables like the old days running to my front wheel except the brake lines. It may run off of the trans?

Yeah, I wondered about that. When I went back and looked again, those centerlines sure looked faster than the first time I watched it. Looked like FUN!

Skyway,

Is that the one from the pashnit forum? Seems they proved that a false speed owing to some electronic trickery, no?

I wouldn't call the video a fake... it's just not real. I have had some experience traveling over 65mph (it was on a closed course with adult supervision ;) ). My memory of how fast the white stripes clicked past and especially how quickly things on the sides of the road went past don't match the video. The side view items should have been just a flicker.

Not sure? Maybe MM2 knows more.

False readings or not, that bike is hauling azz. :D

Can't compare the way our eyes can only focus on exactly what we look at and a camera...

Not saying it is real or not but not a good analysis IMHO.

If he changed his sprocket ratio for stunting, the speedo would read higher than it should.

Thats what I'm thinking. Serious horses or not, he's accelerating like a mofo all the way up to the last 1000 r's, and to top it off, is hitting redline in top gear. What with drag equaling velocity squared or some math **** like that, it's not impossible, but not bloody likely.

TWN has a clip of a high speed run -- will he confess his speed? Do his road stripes and side views look similar to the 220 mph run? While this won't PROVE a thing it will be an interesting comparison. KPH vs MPH, gears, VSS, spedo gear, etc. can all be tweaked to make the spedo to show anything.

TDub is sitting still, while a movie plays behind him like a Laurel and Hardy clip.

Ion, Look straight at your monitor and in your side view notice that everything, while you can "see" it is blurry.

I understand "tunnel vision" that racers experience all to well. I have a few friends that race street and they love telling their stories.

My thing is camera's don't have peripheral vision as we do so would they necessarily experience it a: as soon as we do b: if it was a focus thing such as them zeroing in on a spot it would happen from the very beginning on a camera such as the cop video centerline showed the crowd blurs from the camera moving around and refocusing in on the bike.

I guess the real question also is at what shutter speed would a camcorder have to be able to achieve to be able to see things clearly at this type of speed. And will consumer accessible camcorder achieve this.

Now most camcorders don't have a separate shudder speed but is bundled with aperture & shudder with light or darker settings.

Alright, I'll fess up... The real run was at an indicated 140 MPH. The video software allows for "double speed", but when you run the two concurrently, it sure doesn't seem like twice as fast. Maybe 50% faster...

The other thing I'll say is that these cameras do not seem to reflect a true visual as to the actual speed. I think that the angle of the lens enters in to the equation... Or maybe what Sparky is saying... dunno.

Regarding the 220 MPH Busa vid; compare the passing 'speed' of the painted stripes toward the end of my vid. ;)

Here's the real time video: https://www.youtube.com/?v=cdmQXw1i-v0

I blew it up to %200.

Watch the Tach. He hits 220 and the tach hits 9.5k and then goes to 11k.

I doubt you would still be reving if you really had it balls to the wall at 220

So, twice as fast would be 280 and, by my math, 50% faster would be about 210, right?

I wouldn't have guessed 140 by looking at your video either. It sure seems faster in person. So, on those other rides in the mountains, you're probably averaging about 90, eh? ;) Damn, you are fast! I am not worthy.

Supplied to me by MM2 and now here for your enjoyment. :D
Wow, I didn't know Mike had a Busa. You think you know a guy....
