25-30 MPH FJR crash

Long story short, front wheel pushed in loose gravel in the road and down we went. No damage to self and the damage to the bike was minimal thanks to the sliders. (pics of damage in technical) I guess I tried to ride it out because when we stopped sliding, I was still holding on to the grips and my left foot was still on the peg. Fortunately the slider on the downed side kept my right leg from harm. If you don't have sliders yet, I'd recommend you get some. They will save you repair money and possibly help avoid bodily harm should you go down.

Slider were $28 extended delrin ordered off e-bay from Supply and Demand.

They never were. Tip Over Guards (TOGs) are for drops. Sliders are for (keeping the bike) sliding, as opposed to tumbling, which really brings the damage.

Glad you got away unscathed! :clapping: You could have easily gotten some bad injuries....

You are exactly correct! I was just adding that line as an attempt at humor. Obviously a poor attempt. There always seems to be a thread that says, "Gee...these bikes are top heavy...I dropped it...glad I had my sliders."

I am sure when I drop mine pumping gas or something I will say I was glad the sliders were there. But, I am damn glad I had sliders installed when I dropped it at 28MPH.

Sliders are cheaper than Y.E.S.

After having hit oil on a ramp and gone down at around the same speed as you and having suffered very little damage (mirror, scraped tail pipe, bruised shoulder), I think anyone who rides without sliders is nuts.

Glad you are OK and the bike is not ruined. I bet you were wearing some good heavy duty protective gear. Good show.

You are really not out that bad.

Now you have a reason to get a new set of cans and a new side case cover.

If you turn it into insurance, even with the deductible you will proabably be ahead if you go with after market cans.
