I am totally capable of doing this my self.

Should I? Do I need some record of having done it from a Dealer?

How big of a pain is getting the shims? (If I need them)

And What are the average findings on the GenII bikes. Lots of shims changed? Few? none?

If I should go to a dealer... how much should I pay?

Mad that I didn't buy the PCIII with the bike a year or so ago. (sorry that was a side note)

Thanks

Tim

Cost and other details have been WELL covered here as have whether to do it or not....however I can't find in 14 seconds.

I'm always on the edge of my seat just waiting to see if I will Get Ignacio to tell me to use my search... You skipped it this time but thanks for the broken link..

Your so quick to jump on questions you cant even get your "get a clue and leave us alone *******" Search linky correct maybe more than 14 seconds would be your friend.

I figured it out, I solved my problems and answered my questions

Thanks again for your quick help.

I am interested in this too so I will watch this thread while I search the forum :)

Yes this does look like an interesting thread to follow.

This is the link Iggy sent you:

https://&quot/;https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?showtopic=104222&st=0&p=418481entry418481"

All you had to do was use a little common sense and edit the link then it would take you to where you needed to go.

Insulting your host is not great way to keep your membership on the board.

I ****** up a link. OMG! Sorry all....I've deprived the Search Welfare class from their entitlement.

Hey Mr. ask 9 questions to every 1 contribution and mostly hang out in Completely Off-Topic....snottiness is growing old. You wanna ask questions and then give lip...it's not gonna fly.

Maybe I should get snotty and close threads where some searching should have been obvious first.

Maybe we should restrict people from the ability of posting in certain areas until they've demonstrated they can put forth the effort to find a few basic things.

Or maybe I should be a total *** and revoke the posting privileges of snotty people who don't seem to even be bothered to try a search of something covered so many times. Maybe lurking does become you.

.....no.....I think I'll go take a moment away and not do something rash.

Where's the "Popcorn" icon when you need it?

Best tip I've gotten here is: site:fjrforum.com "valve adjustment" in Google Search....

Ride On!

Don

the search function on this forum is not all that stellar - believe me - i've spent more time searching on this forum than posting due to the "do a search you worthless little puke" attitude so prevalent here.

i'm with tim - you can +1 me to his cause!

btw - which oil should i use for my 600 mile service?

I agree. Hence the strong and repeated encouragements to use the FAR superior Google. Not only is it a term you agree to when you sign up, but we've provided this wonderful link by the forum owner to help. It REALLY is easy.

BTW, about 99% of the time when a person asks a question and is provided a link....it's because a forum regular do EXACTLY that. They search Google and hand deliver a link. Must not be that hard because some of the regulars are pretty crusty.

If you want to ask questions that have been covered many, many times before....somebody will probably answer....eventually....but you're going to get mocked. It's far better to say, "I searched on x and y and Google, but didn't find what is probably a common question. Any ideas what I'd search on or the answer if not answered tons of times before?"

Good luck. ;)

Sorry but I just found this whole thing funny as hell.....

I have found 97% of my intended questions here by searching first. This board is a ubber wealth of info. :good:

I was reading some posts... And I was thinkin of the posts that I made and Ignacio has quick posted something like "I did a 15 second search and......" Number one... He always gives a link. I was thinking he was a **** this whole time.... Maybe I'm a THE ****! Maybe He was just trying to save me and everyone else time while not cluttering up the forum. I am very poor at both the search on the Forum and Google leaves me hanging as well as Really reading the whole thread as someone nailed me on about the wally maps. (Not really reading).

But, all you folks who have done the jobs before and, are much more knowledgeable Because of having been there and done that.... Even if you've answered the question a zillion times. Sometimes it would be nice if you would just answer it again for the zillion and 1 time. I can't even tell you how many times I have explained to an A/C mechanic how to troubleshoot Instrument systems in determining which part is bad and to send me. I have never Said go do a search of google (site:Bonanza Forum) and your issue, then, if you still cant find it I will help.

Still when I look at my original post: I think mostly I was just sounding

And to be fair Ignacio was just answering my question with a link.

and my reply to that was just ********. Sorry.

I all ready knew I was doing it myself, Because I dont have a grand every year to have a dealer do valve checks or anything.

I did it yesterday and finished today and all the clearances were fine. So there you have it.

I believe emotions are running a little high considering recent circumstances with TWN.

We can all get along and continue with this virtual family.

Tim, I'm glad you were able to complete the valve adjustment. Feels good to save the money......

Mike P.....your avatar disturbs me. Hope you didn't think it was too funny what those *** Wipes did to that guy..

And I believe I bit your head off also the other day. Again Sorry.

I search as much as possible but sometimes i will ask a question just to see if there is any new info out there (haven't done it on this site yet though). as such i can see jumping on people who never search but sometimes there is a reason.

Sorry but I just found this whole thing funny as hell.....
Me too. I'm a forum junkie, and I never cease to be amazed that people come absolutely unhinged because someone asks a question that has already been covered. They could answer the actual question with far less effort than they spend ranting about why the OP didn't do a search first. On the other hand, they could just not even open the thread - seems to me that would really teach the OP a lesson! :assassin:
