So my "newly overhauled" 2720 died recently and I exchanged it for a new 2730 which is very nice indeed. Received the new unit yesterday, opened the box and much to my shock, there is a gigantic hockey puck of an XM antenna.

Right now I mounted it on my tank (magnet) and bundeled the extra 4 feet of cord just as others have done. Has anyone come up with a better solution yet? Anyone modified (i.e. cut down) the length of the cable on the puck?

Such a nice looking unit and such an ugly puck... yeesh! :dribble:

I haven't measured it yet, but wondering if 4' would be long enough to mount that sucker on the tail area. Alternatively I'm thinking on the dashboard I have or if it were to work through nose plastic and you haven't already filled up the space with HID ballasts like I have--just above the left headlight.

I have a design that will allow you to mount it on either of the fluid reservoir's up on the handlebars. I have mine on the tank right now, but I have found that getting the puck up higher offers far better XM radio reception in the canyon's.

I am getting the '06 sliders ready right now, but this will be my next FJR accessory.
