if you don't buy it, I just might...want lotsa of pics the first day it's in your driveway
<yikes if AIW (Angelic Italian Wifey) is looking over my shoulder>
Sadly Patriot, there won't be lots of pics today. It's crappy out and just driving it here, I probably got the CX dirtier than it's been in a decade.

But it's here! Right now, it's getting aquainted with her 'stable'mates... (it's an outdoor stable :( ) Tragically, the black Accord and the 2 bikes are going into storage this weekend. I'll be driving my Buick Lesabre until April now...... yaaaawn (which I now have to pick up at the place where I got the bike)

This is the view from my desk chair, looking out the patio door. I shouldn't ride it out on the wet roads but at least I can look at it now, lol

Oh, and when I picked it up earlier, for my first cold-morning start, it started on the first compression stroke!!!!!

$2800.. do I hear $2800? (no imaginary decimal places this time Howie)

damn, that is sweet

hay, I always want to help out a Feej peep...ship it down to me and I'll "store it" and keep it perfect in my garage

warm, clean, Southern climate here...perfect to preserve your treasured classic Honda

oh, and include a key "just in case"

Cheers,

Mike in Nawlins'

JEALOUS! and you know why!
yeah well, you'll have yours too next spring and you'll have paid $600 less than I did. It's kind of funny.... YOU'RE the one who got me all turned on to buying one earlier this year. And I got mine first.

Na na na na naaa naaaaaaaaaaa ;)

Is yours the one that was listed in Gatineau?

I was just having a closer look at your pics.. damn that thing is in nice shape! Even the cover directly behind the front wheel that takes the brunt of the road splash is cherry on yours! My issue buying 'mine' was I had no where to store it. Now, the Mean Streak is sold so I have the place! But now, not working and have to watch my pennies. NOT FAIR!

That's an absolutly beautiful score! You stole it... you lucky dog.

I can understand the nostalgia thing, as I also own a 91 Kawa 750 Zephyr which is in pretty nice condition. My original plan when I got my 06 Feej was to sell the Kwaka, but somehow it still calls out to me when I open the garage door, and gets ridden a fair amount around town, commutes to work, etc.

Besides, it gives my OCD fetish about polished aluminum an outlet without molesting the finish on the Feej!

SWEEEET! Nice lookin scoot there, for sure. I think I like the old shaggin' wagon in the background even more though ;)

Cracks me up! Any time I reference that photo, I get the same comment about the VW in the background! It belongs to my younger son, who bought it a few years ago from his older brother, so it's been in the family now for about 20 years all told.

It is the factory camper model with the roof that raises, and is in generally excellent conditon except for the inevitible rust under the windshield... Fun Times! :drinks:

VERY nice.

I bring a lot of old bikes back to life. heres some things you might expect to need attention besides the obvious like tires.

1. fork seals

2. charging system (a definite weakness on that vintage of Honda, almost always the rotor)

3. check brake fluid for clarity, purge if needed. If theres debris in the master cyl you'll have to pump a lot of clean fluid thru the system.

4. calipers (usually at least need the exposed area of the pistons cleaned, if they stick at all disasseble (use air to pop the piston out) and clean everything up.

5. shocks are almost always no longer functional (not that they were worth much when new.)

those are real nioce bikes and the 650 has definite collector status so you won't lose money unless you pay waaaay to much or crash it.

Interesting point. Even if you opted to pay the insurance co for collision, they'd total it with anything more than a scratch.

I guess you could get a "custom" coverage policy where you say the worth in advance, but I have a feeling that kind of coverage doesn't come cheaply.

PS - Nice bike. Honda's version of a Guzzi. Except it doesn't break as often... ;)
