On our 29th Anniversery trip we only saw 3 other FJR's and all of them were on the Dragon and the Skyway. Seemed like everyway I went they were always heading the other way or parked at an overlook and I couldn't stop at the time. SO Sound off if you were down there havin fun. In our 2025 mile trip only you 3 were spotted. I saw a Black, Blue and a Cherry.

:yahoo:

Was on the dragon and Cherahola the 5/27 and the Blue Ridge 5/29.

And yes, I only saw 4 fjrs all week.

I was there from May 26th to May 30th. All over the Foothills, Cherahola, Dragon and more. A group of us hit the Devils Triangle, US 421 Snake, and some places I haven't a clue where we were ! It was the end of a 2100 mile trek that started in LA to Helen, Boone, Cumberland Gap, and then back down to Gatlinberg.

Only saw a few FJR's. There was a black 07 and a very skinned up Gen 1 in silver at Deals Gap on Friday the 29th.

I was on the Parkway between Asheville and Boone on June 26th. I met an 07 (black cherry) near Boone headed south with a red VFR, I was with a red ST1300.

Who are you?

I was in the area with another FJR, silver, on 5/29. Of course black is 08/09, but that was probably us.

Look familiar?

Yep, that looks like the two I saw. Looks like you have been down some of the same roads we had been. Devils Triangle was a mess with lots of debri from trucks and mudslides.

This is my wife and I from May 29th on the Dragon.

This how we were loaded on the trip up to the mountains. Think we had enough crap strapped on the bike ?

That is one loaded up bike!

Yep, had my items for 8 day trip in the right side case. Rest of that stuff was my wife's !! Next year we are going to lose a lot of her items.

Have to say though she hangs on bike like glue and never says a peep when we lay this bike over in turns. Just kept taking pics through all of the turns.

Surprisingly over the 2100 miles and some vigorous riding the 4 days we were in Gatlinburg area, and taking the Interstate from above Chattanooga TN

to Dothan AL, a little over 400 miles at a clip of 80 and up, averaged 48.6 mpg over complete trip.

This was my first trip of this long on the FJR and I can't think of another bike that could perform touring, sport riding, and being an interstate rocket like this bike does.

If I ever wear this one out I would definately buy another. Just hope Yamaha keeps building these until I am too old to ride anymore.

I was up there on 129 around noon time on the 2nd. I ride a Black Cherry 07 with a Givi 52.

I spent Monday through Thursday riding up to the BRP on through to Front Royal on the Skyway and back down the county roads to 460/Tazewell in Virgina so I could drop down my favorite 16 to Marion. I left there Thursday and went down 133 and 91 through TN and did the Gatlinburg 321 route to the Foot Hills Park Way and then on to 129 and down 28 to 17 etc. back through Cleveland, GA to visit my parents in Johns Creek, GA. It was a 1600 mile four day trip. The weather was very nice and cool, I left Marion, Virgina at 54 degrees at 7am.

I'm going to stay in GA a few days and get some fresh tires and start heading to Colorado. Well, thats the plan anyway, my camping gear is at home in Alabama so I'll do some oil changing and prep work before I head West down I-40. A couple weeks ago I did 1500 miles from Alabama to Virgina and back down through North Carolina on 221, so my 07 has probably been seen a few times around the SE. The bike is running good now with the new ECU. :)

It sure was nice in Virgina up on 16, a little light rain but it was nice and cool with the sun breaking through at times.

I found Hwy 16 Marion to Tazewell by mistake on my way home. Maybe as good a the Dragon and longer. The best bit ends at "Frog Level"

I was at Deal's Gap on the 29th, but wasn't on the FJR. Had a maroon '93 GSX1100G Suzuki (attending a rally in the area). Started back up the Blue Ridge Parkway on the 31st and rode the Parkway and Skyline Dr. to Front Royal, then home.
