This road is a mystery. As far as I can tell, it has no side roads and doesn't really go anywhere. It is certainly over built for its use. All I can figure is a politico with some pork barrel dollars was an enthusiast and needed a playground in his back yard.

But who's complaining! This road alone is worth the trip to California. First you go up the mountain, and then you come down the mountain roller coaster. This whole length took us about 10 minutes, with the attached clip running about 3 minutes.

Whew! I'm pumped! JB, you really shouldn't show videos like that to people grounded by winter.

Nice work, the Video and the Ride. :clapping:

If you mind me asking, were is Skaggs springs Rd. ?

North of Jenner, which is North of Bodega Bay...

From the "Ride Report", post # 25:

I wish that I could have made this ride. Skaggs Spring Road is one of my favorites.

We'll never tell. Gotta keep some people in the dark or it'll get crowded.

The low-tech, Thomas guide answer (yes, other than the intarweb, I'm pretty much a Luddite) is: Northwest corner of Sonoma County. Off Hwy 1, the nearest towns are Sea Ranch (N. of Stewarts Point, S. of Gualala). Off Hwy 101, nearest town is Cozzens Corners, best guesstimate -literally using my fingers to measure- is about 23 miles north of Santa Rosa on 101. The fun stuff is east (inland) from the coast after you crest the coast range - less tree litter and mud washed onto the road.

Holler when you come up and you can probably coerce a couple of the NorCal guys to 'escort' you.
