Bwahahaha. I had to laugh that you were the first respondent.

Interested in some good Dead tracks for the celebration?

Oddly, the 20th is also Tax Freedom Day here in Cali. And not surprisingly, it's later here than in many other states. Maybe we could move it up a bit if they could figure out how to tax that big cash crop they grow up in Humboldt County. Amazing they haven't figured that one out yet.

You're never too old to be hip, Ross. B)

PS - Don't let Sacto Mike lull you in. We are never free of taxes (even when we are well dead).

Always. I just sent in my ticket request (and funds) to see Furthur when they do three shows here in September. I can only make one day (damn Gerlachfest always conflicts with something!).

Ah... if only it were legalized. :drag:

But being an upstanding citizen, my bong suckin' days are behind me.

So instead, at 4:20 I'll just partake of my completely legal mind altering drug of choice! :drinks:

Which reminds me, Russ: You told me before that Kölsch is your favorite style of beer. Did you know that Harpoon's Summer Seasonal is actually a Kölsch? And a pretty darned good one, too. You'll have to give it a try and let me know what you think of it. I happen to know someone who makes the stuff. ;)

PS - Harpoon summer is available in cans (as well as bottles)! Ultra convenient for hauling around in your side bags. And for those not "in the know", cans are actually the superior packaging for beer (for a multitude of reasons) but have received a bad rep due to the BMC swill that tends to be guzzled from them.

do you have a link to their schedule?

it's a good thin i don't have the same level of contact i did back in the early 70's. there's been more than one time this year when either being pissed at the events at work or when battling chronic (heh) pain that i'd have made the call.

HERE IT IS It's a bit convoluted, what with needing to send in a USPS money order and SASE for return and all, but it does appear to be fair. They take the requests in by postmark date. And if no tickets are available they simply return the money order to you. They encourage folks to add artwork on the envelopes. There's a great collection of one folks have sent in on the site, check them out. Me, being artistically-challenged, thinks they're amazing.
