TriggerT's and AFCJER's post the other day opened my eyes to a new meaning of the term 4 corners -- not just riding to CO-UT-AZ and NM, but hitting the 4 corners of your state. I've seen references to 4 corners rides of PA and VT and WI, and the ultimate 4 corners of the US. So what is the longest and what is the shortest 4 corner state ride? Rules? Gotta stay in the state and no dirt roads and you have to come as close as you can to the corners (however many there are) of the state.

Here's MT. 2055 miles:

B) Hey 7xray I will be up in your neck of the woods the later part of Sept. early Oct. for a 2 week vacation, if you want to do the 4 corners of Montana and dont mind a FJR rider tagging along it sounds like fun. I own land in the Kalispell area Somers , but always wanted to see more of Montana. Checkout the Bakken oil shell area in Montana.

California Dreaming. Thanks, Dan

Actually have to go through Canada to get that Northwest corner of the state.

Maryland is always a pain. First, we have at least 5 corners. Then the question about whether we have to stay in-state? Going between the southeast and southwest corners would sure be shorter to cut across Virginia.

Washington reasonably has 5 solid corners....which I rode several years ago.

Anatone in the SE, make sure and take a primitive road and not go to Lewiston Idaho, Metaline Falls, Blaine, ferry to Neah Bay, then along coast to Vancouver. Trip is just over 1500 miles and makes a nice Bun Burner.

A few years ago I worked up not only a four-corners ride, but a route that followed along the stateline of California as close as possible (exits the state on occasion).

It was over 2600 miles. Probably a good 7-day ride to enjoy all the sites.
