Say it ain't so! Throw your FJR away and all start over.

I can't see how the warranty would be affected by this. I would like to belive that it would have to be proven by the dealer or Yamaha that any claims were attributable to a delay in service. I wonder what the fine print says (The big print giveth and the fine print taketh away).

thats what I was thinking,, I changed over to synthetic lube at 3500,, new filter and synthetic in the final gear drive also,,,

thanks for the reasurance,,

Just document that you already did your 4K service at 3K. Sync your TB's and check your splines and you're good to go. Or was that 600 miles? Or is that both? Heck, that was WAY too long ago.

Many have their tool of choice and they vary in price range.

I have the carbtune with stainless steal rods for doing the TBS that ran about $110 or so from www.carbtune.com

You can get mercury ones for around $50.

Anyway the process was documented very well and here is the link

https://www.fjr1300.info/howto/efi-sync.html

Takes longer to get the bike apart than doing the synch.

Very easy job and definitely worth the time/investment.
