When I first took delivery of my bike it stalled a lot at intersections etc, it would not idle well. I told my local Yamaha dealer about this at the 400 mile service and I'm not sure why, but they charged me for a throttle body sync, the bike Idled but the throttle response was not smooth and the bike did not run well in hot [100+] weather. I did not understand why and was not happy to have to pay for this service considering that the bike was brand new. Also after reading a few of the horror stories regarding dealerships I was a bit concerned.
So I had my 4K service done at Simi Yamaha in California. I had made an appointment to have the ignition switch replaced and the 4K service, they ordered the parts and told me to bring it in on Thursday the following week. When I did they told me the ignition switch had been back ordered and they probably would not have it completed until the following Wednesday. At about that point I thought WTF is up with Yamaha dealers. I reluctantly left it at the dealer and got a call on Saturday that the bike was ready. New shinny ignition switch, no scratches or dents, everything installed in the right spot and the total for the 4K service was $258 OTD, including a throttle body sync and most importantly the bike runs and idles great. The throttle response is noticeably better. Simi Yamaha is beginning to restore my faith in dealers.
Now that I have found a dealer I hope that I can trust, I went ahead and ordered the YES from D&H Cycles, another great customer experience.
So two great customer experiences from Yamaha Dealers that just makes owning an FJR that much better. :yahoo:
Thanks for the advice. <_<
