When I first stumbled across this news in another forum, the typical thoughts of Hardley group riding gone bad came to mind.

Um, no... this isn't bike related, it is just unbelievably tragic disaster:

5 die at Biker Toy Run

Jeeze, what a way to go.... 5 fairly young adults, ages 27-39.... two were a married couple with 8-month-old twins... :rip_1:

Damn shame..

Not to be a smart ass but I thought this was rather stupid.

"The charity's website said there was free beer."

I guess free beer contributed somehow? Fecking Media :glare:

Tragic. I think I'm gonna check my smoke and CO detectors this weekend.
Yep, fire departments remind folks to change the batteries in smoke and CO detectors each fall. Doing it as part of the ritual of setting the clock back at the end of daylight saving time is a good habit to get into.

It seems like every year, when it gets cold we loose some here in the PNW. A lot of the time immigrants from warmer climates, bring in the BBQ to cook or heat. Silent Killer, indeed.

How to turn a great event into a tragic event, RIP.

My Funmover motorhome has smoke, carbon monoxide and propane detectors in it. The propane detector has already saved me. I bumped into the range before bed one night and turned on the gas to a burner. Alarm went off in a couple minutes. It's wired into the elect system. The rest gets new batteries regularly.
