Well, I pushed my luck with the weather man. My wife and I decided to go to dinner at the local Outback Steak House. We finished our meal just as the down pour began. It rained heavy with high winds and lightning for about 30 minutes. Then, light but steady rain for the next hour. It cleared out right at sun down and we saw a beautiful double rainbow (wow, I sound like a *****). We basically just set the rain out then continued on. Riding in the rain is doable. Riding in the rain in heavy metro Atlanta traffic at night is just plain stupid. I'm not stupid. :withstupidsmiley:
Ride safe and live to ride again.
Well being from the Atlanta area I never pay attention to the weather man, It can rain everywhere around you and be dry as can be where your at. I say unless there is a torrential downpour, get on the bike and go for it!

rain ! you made me lmao! When you are in the Rockies 50 miles from somewhere and all hell breaks loose what you gonna do? call ghostbusters?

When I picked up my new bike at D&H I rode to St Louis, did the 600 mile service at Knifemaker's place then we went out to din din. When we got back to his house it was pouring & I realized I had taken everything out of the bike including my raingear & left it at the motal, doh! So I rode the 25 minutes back in the rain. Ok my pants were soaked, I lived.

Rain is part of riding. Get some rain gear (& take it with you).

Yup. If I didn't ride in the rain, I would never get to ride...*L*
My kinda girl! I may be out that way next summer, only if I can learn to deal with the prairies though, I'm of the hill people. The idea of wide open, flat and no shelter just gives me the willies.
The prairies are just...wrong.

Just ride fast and don't look from side to side, you'll be fine...*L*

the twisties out here are worth the risk

90% chance of rain here in El Paso yesterday...the remnants of Hurricane Dolly were directly overhead.I had to work. Decided to ride the bike and leave the truck at home. I Got rained on both going and coming.

I recorded 3.62" of rain at my house from the ALL day rain from Dolly...but I got to ride my bike!
Aren't hurricanes fun? I still remember riding during one in Daytona in my college days when I didn't own a car. It's amazing how far you have to lean over in order to stay in your lane while going straight down a straight road with hurricane winds blowing at you from the side.

We don't have hurricanes here in the PNW, but we do get continual rain. Nothing like an Aerostitch suit to be warm and dry year 'round. I don't even bother to check the weather before heading out; just suit up and go. Okay I lied because in the winter I do check for guaranteed snow days. I'm not that crazy!
