I'm riding from the Eastern coast, up 258 past Scotland Neck,

meeting Heidi (LuvToRide) and then joining Elizabeth City FJRs for lunch in Williamston.

Then heading back south toward Greenville.

Anybody is welcomed to join.

ETD 7:00 a.m. Sunday 9-17

Here's the route I took. Heidi came down from Norfolk VA (northeast), Jarmo joined from Elizabeth City NC (East).

For anyone that has not seen Scotland Neck NC. It has some of the most magnificent old homes and rock architecture you've ever seen. Old Southern cotton plantation houses etc. Maybe Heidi will post the pics she took there.

Anyway... here's the map route.

Boy oh boy... looking at that map it looks like you had a dinky little ride. Hahaha!! Jeff, I'm home... actually been back in the area for awhile. Stopped at a friend's place for a bit. Jarvis took me thru this road... Uhhh, forgot the name but you'd love it! Very open & lots of high speed sweepers. I'm supposing this is the best that flatlanders like us can find. I'm not sure how many miles I actually rode but I can tell you I went thru a full tank of gas... probably a day ride of somewhere between 240-250? I'll post up pics as soon as I can find my camera download cord.

Was great hanging out w/ you guys. Let's do it again sooner than later. THanks for the memories...

Have a good one, Heidi

Jarmo Here

Got back in a little after 3 pm. Flat land is so boring after the rides we got in up arround Boon.

Sent the family out in the ATV's while I grilled some burgers.

Once again I have an almost new rear tire with a nail in it. Made it home with no problems.

The air pump I picked today fits inside my spare helmet and have the rain gear in there also.

I still want to ride out to Ocrecoke Island and take the ferry back to the mainland sometime.

Hey! I get defensive when chicks start commenting about my dinky little ride!

:angry2:

Just FYI... I did over 300 miles today.

Definitely had fun. Post some pics when you get the chance.

Just got confirmation from my brother that the cabin is mine Oct 13-16. We'll be leaf peeping up the dragon's butt for sure.

Oh, I'm sorry... I didn't mean to hurt your feelings... uhhhhh, that ride looks a litttle over 9" long! WOW!!! What a BIGGGG ride!!!

Your cabin trip sounds fun... I'm jealous! I'd be there if I didn't already have plans w/ the Old Dominion Leaf Peepers assn. Darn, we Old Dominion folk will just have to settle with the mountains of VA & WV. That's just terrible! NOT!

Hey y'all give us Raleigh riders some advance notice and we'll (John Yee and I) try to hook up with you the next time you have a trip :)

Regards,

JW
