They're GREAT shots, Wheatie !!

Looking forward to more :D
Thanks Mary Ellen...so am I. A ride like this demands a ride report...if only to help remember it in the years to come.

Wheatie,

No disappointment here, nice pics and there are some begging for captions...
You have no idea how many piccies I have that are begging for captions. ;)

...I see the "Next 140 Miles" sign is back. Very cool!
Yeah, I was happy to add that sign picture. That road is just awesome...you have no idea.

And those are just a FEW of the shots you took....and a minuscle part of the memories that are still swirling through your brain. :yahoo:
I see you've been there. That is exactly where I'm at. Nice to have had a chance to see you again Mike.

The lack of nudity and sheep relegates this to also ran file Mark..
I have some animal pictures there Bust, don't worry.

...I like it. B)
I know.

Looking forward to the rest, those pictures are screaming to tell a story and we are all waiting and straining to hear. Start forking over that story already Wheatie!

I'm working on it...

OK Mark, what kind of tail pipe does that camera have?
Trooper modded of course...

Oh boy, this is gonna be great.
You have no idea...(then again, neither do I)

Great photos!!! A trip to remember and repeat!!! Eh? Mark and Karl!! follow up with some more!
More photos to come Eddie. Sorry about the bad first flyby...I'll do better next time. :clapping:

...It's hard to know where to begin with something that became this big...
Yep. You got that right.

Great Photos Wheatie, Thank You!
Thank-you Don. You're not half as queer as you seem on the innernet. :D

Nice to see a "few" photo's of Kaliforny. Thanks for the trip. Saved me gas!
Don't save gas...that's unpatriotic. Visit Kali soon, before it falls into the ocean! :clapping:

An excellent start Mark :clapping: Awaiting the rest with much anticipation :)
I'll get there in bits and pieces as soon as I can. I just have to tell Louanne that those "honey do" items aren't nearly as important as this RR.

Looking forward to your ride report, Wheatie!
Thanks Geek. Couldn't find any corn cobs out west...they weren't there. I think OM has them stashed away somewhere's...

I know where this foto was taken!
I thought you would...I didn't notice the Christmas tree. Do I have to come back? BTW, what's your work schedule next year? (you fooker). Missed you bud. That was the one thing that really seemed "off" about this trip. You'll get it in the RR for sure...just you wait. :D

It was great riding with you, Karl and the rag tag contingent you picked up, Mark. Wish we could have escorted you around more of the Sierras, including the passes, but that just means you'll have to come back again.

I was concerned about your tire after the flat, and then Dave notices my "slicks" by the 140 mile sign! DOH!! Didn't think about how hard they would be getting scrubbed until then. Later that afternoon on 49, I just wanted to get home (slowly) and figured I'd see you on Thursday. Took me a while to realize my tires would have to be changed first, but when we got to my place Tuesday evening, we only had the energy to order pizza and then pass out. Did that double plug of sticky string make it all the way back to Wheaton without further drama?

Glad Tom stepped up with some emergency substitute ride planning for Thursday. Lookin' forward to you getting back out here again -- like maybe next year?? ;)

I'd love to come back again. I'll probably be 2-up next time...doing a fly and ride out of SF or Sac. But I'm not smooth like you and go light speeds 2-up.

I have Z-Rated double plugs... :)

Tires are pretty much toast though after 6700 miles. I think I use engine braking alot on the twisty roads...

[email protected] goes the thread.

...Not sure what copyright laws I've broken, but this is now my computer desktop background!
I think that's a first for me. Glad you like the picture. :)

My pictures always have that fancy timestamp...that's how you know it is a Wheaton original.

Think right after that picture was taken, I hit FJR nominal speeds 1XX.X, GPS certifed. :yahoo:

Looking forward to your ride report, Wheatie!

Hay Karl - how do you like your Transit Suit?
The Transit Suit, most versatile I've tried. Works in the wet, had it to the low 90's, flows so much air if you forget to open the back vent it blows up like a balloon. Cooler temps I have to use a rain oversuit to block the air.

Crash tested on Indiana 550 at 25-30 mph, low side to the left elbow, the armor and the suit worked, slight scratch to the leather, me nothing.

Yeah, I like it.

Engine braking and Nevada at Karl speed is why I'll never see 8k out of a set.

Glad your z rated plugs worked. I tried to replug my rear and still has a slow leak so on go the replacements but at least I had over 5k on them.

What an adventure Mark. Can't wait to sit down & hear about it in person.

Hope we can get together for a ride yet sometime this year.

I await your continued report. :clapping:

Thanks for the RR preview wheatie, and glad you and Karl made it back to the flatlands in one piece!

The weekend blast was a hoot...1991 miles door to door. Waiting on the next installment. ;)

To get things started...I thought I would post up some preliminary photos from this Kali trip. This trip was epic, and I mean epic for this FJR rider...so the real report is coming later.

Just thought I would post a couple photos from each day...they aren't necessarily the best photos from each day...but represent what happened or what I saw on that day. My full ride report will not be a puppychow, OM, TominCA, etc ride report...so get ready to be disappointed....this isn't even a ride report. :D

Great pictures! I'm riding up through Sacramento and Reno to visit a friend this month, and then to Montana. First stop out of Reno? Middlegate. Looking forward to your ride report.

Didn't get a whole buncha time to chat, but it was nice meeting you Wheatie. And great to see everyone that came out to welcome you at Alices.

I apologize for not being able to meet and ride with you two clowns - but since you weren't willing to pay 10k for the 1 day tour, I had to cancel on your *** and go make money, honey! :p
