Thanks for the ride report, I look forward to them every time you disappear for a few days. Seeing pictures of all that beautiful countryside brings back good memories of when I went through there way too many years ago (back in the '70s) with my mother and sister. Mom was driving, I was in the back seat asking "Are we there yet?". Makes me want to plan a trip next spring in that direction.

I can relate to being at a campsite at night, getting up in the wee hours in the morning and looking up at the stars. Kinda puts thing is perspective.

Yeah,
I did some rock baptizing too
.

Wow. I really enjoyed riding along with you, if only vituperously vicariously. If that's the price of getting up early, it might just be worth it. My only advice for improving your post is to have more *** (probably before you go).

Man up and get some heated gear like a real old fart...
I'm sorry Tiffany, and there are those who'll disagree, but I'm of the opinion that heated gear is for girls.

If it's cold out there, I'll just stay home with my blanky, in front of the fireplace, fortified hot-chocolate,

old movie. I'm just manly that way. Nothing I can do to change it.

Bust - ...you'd pick the ugliest sheep in the herd....
When the wool's grown out, they all look the same.

Or, Bluesie, perhaps you enlighten us on what features are important to YOU.

...you miss me ...
(I got traffic school, and had the fine reduced to $74. How about you Brian?)

Way before my time Brodie. But I can imagine. :D

Let me know when you want to go next spring. You can run interference.

You know....for antlered obstacles. ;)

Spoken like a true Californicator -- as if sitting before a fire with a blanky is manly? Probably reading a Harlequin Romance novel too. :derisive:

Ziiiiing!

A real man pays his fine and moves on. None of that sissy :brunette: traffic school stuff in real-men's states like Oregon. :battleaxe:

Fixed it for ya'.

OM, I really appreciate your words and pictures. I have been a frustrated photgrapher for years and have never developed the "eye" that you have. I am thankful that there are people that have it so I can enjoy their work. I know some of it comes from slowing down and seeing. I am just not there yet. Thanks for sharing your work.

Speaking of stars -I had to get up a few times during the course of the night to use the men's room, and in the wee hours, after the moon had slipped below the horizon, I stopped and gazed up

at the incredible sky. This place was far, far away from any sizable towns, and the sky was crystal clear,

so I was treated to one of the most amazing night skies I'd ever witnessed.

I found myself almost in tears staring up at it and considering what the ancients

thought of it back when they knew little of the universe.
Lovely, Michael. :)

I respect a person who knows that direct address always takes a comma.

P.S. OM, I fixed it for ya. :)

You didn't happen to see dCarver behind the counter, didja?

As always Michael, great phots with amusing narration. Gotta love the little additions here and there. Since those images have been seen on the 'net, they must be true.

Keep those ride reports coming.

All I know OM is that when I dream about FJR trips I want to take, my dreams look a lot like your ride reports.

Excepting the sheep of course.
