Got a few "farkles." I've added Gen-Mar risers, a Yamaha touring windshield (which is still kind of short--time for the aftermarket), and a Premier Cycles back rest. Got about 4,000 miles now, and am getting comfortable with it. Still needs a set of Grip Puppies. Got better with the "clank" throttle. A little trail braking seems to take care of that as I accelerate into curves. It's much smoother now, and a ton of fun to ride.

And when I want to slow down, I just hop on this. Hey, it's got two wheels!

That backrest looks mighty nice! Any chance it moves up to serve the driver too? I think I saw one once on some bike (not an FJR) that was adjustable that far...I'm kinda interested in that.

As for the risers...any chance you can get someone to take a pic with you on the bike and holding both grips? I've moved the bars back on mine, but would still like to be just a bit more upright...I need to look up these blocks you got.

Very sharp ride though, I gotta say!

I notice you don't have any frame sliders...am I just paranoid in wanting them? (I got mine from RGRacing as my local dealer likes them.) I'm up to nearly 1400 miles now, and love it!

What other farkles are you looking at? I spend too much time at working wondering what I should get...heated grips seem silly (doesn't get cold enough here in the Bay Area), real cruise control is interesting but not useful commuting 20 miles each way. GPS is the same, wanna wait until I know I can do a long haul, and then get whatever's best then, presuming the 550 will have been replaced by then. Garage door opener is probably the best thing...I've been chaining the thing up at night until I get room cleared out in the garage, but rainy season will be starting before I'm ready, I'm sure.

Allnight...heated grips come in handy when you hit an unexpected cold snap or rain....never hought I would use "those", but it is sure nice to have a toasty set of grips when coming home later than expected...
