What model 06 FJR does the dealer have for 12K? If it is an AE, that would be a fairly good price. If it is an A, he is on cheap drugs, excuse me, politically correct term, generic medication. Good luck on the search, I have only heard rumor and innuendo as to what Yama Mama will offer in '08, but I wouldn't let that keep me away from and '06 or '07 now. They are great bikes. B)

Nobody's gonna have an confirmed information on the '08s until Yamaha announces it...until then take everything you hear with a grain of salt. Some of the rumors may be true but smart money says most of them will be bunk. Having said that I agree with LowLevel - nothing should stop you from buying an '06 or '07 now, they are great bikes. I picked up my '07 a month ago and have been having a blast on it.

sorry guys i just wanted some info on the bike the bike the dealer has is the a model the blue one i hear the top speed is around 150 and gas millage is close to 40 and again im sorry thanks

Forgetting all the other B.S. that price does NOT seem all that good since many dealers are selling the NEW 07 for that price or LESS.

You could have bought a new 07 from D & H Cycle for $11,779 + your states tax & license fees. There was also a dealer in Texarkana TX that was selling them for near the same price.

Hope this helps you with your request for price information. You would love the FJR.

Be sure the dealer hasn't done a body panel swap, FJR1300A Blue for FJR1300AE Silver. It's very important to verify if it is an A or AE. AE = auto clutch, no clutch lever. Dealers are deeply discounting AEs to get them off the floor. 12K isn't a smoking hot deal for a new AE, but that is a fair price for a non-AE (IMO).

Any FJR will exceed 150 mph (on a closed course, with a professional rider...) Probably 2/3s of all FJR owners get 40 mpg or better. Even the ones that don't make it are just a bit below 40.

The '06 is a known commodity, you know what you should be able to expect from it. If Yamaha significantly 'improves' the FJR for '08 it is an unknown risk.

As stated above, that is not a good price. I paid 12,500 a year ago when the model was new. Now it is at least one year going on 2. I would try to get it for 11k and maybe have him through in the extended warranty. good luck. it is an excellent bike. Everett

dstray,

Where are you in Maine? I've seen that 06, it's been there for a long time. Bet if you play hardball with them you could get a good deal. If I interpret the forum comments correctly, the 06 with clutch IS the way to go. It has all the Gen 2 improvements without a lot of the 07 mapping problems. Am I right fellas?

If you're nearby, stop in for a test ride on my 05. I'm around most of the time (retired) but will be leaving for WFO in Utah on Fri the 20th.

Oh yeah, welcome to the forum.

Charlie

Point of reference, I paid $11,500 for my '06 out the door. At this stage of the game $12,000 is a bit steep.

Now, wife on wife, wife on bike, I don't give a crap, pics Pics PICS!

No screening needed....we just dog pile them....especially if they are from tejas.

Mentioning "dog pile" in a thread orignally titled "wife on wife" is just too much...excuse me while I...ummm...well, I'll be right back. :D
