How to get to Heaven from Ireland
(A true story from an Irish Sunday School Teacher)

I was testing children in my Dublin Sunday school class to see if they understood the concept of getting to heaven.

'I asked them, ' If I sold my house and my car, had a big garage sale and gave all my money to the church, would that get me into heaven?'

'NO!' the children answered.

'If I cleaned the church every day, mowed the garden, and kept everything tidy, would that get me into heaven?'

Again, the answer was 'NO!'

'If I gave sweets to all the children, and loved my husband, would that get me into heaven?'

Again, they all answered 'NO!'

I was just bursting with pride for them. I continued, 'Then how can I get into heaven?'

A little boy shouted out: 'YUV GOTTA BE FOOKN' DEAD.'

It's a curious race, the Irish. Brings a tear to the eye, doesn't it?

Color blind, Howie? Or just a red deficiency? (Compare the Irish flags you posted in posts 2 and 4.)

I've got a slight red-green deficiency, and a since departed friend was completely colorblind, so even when I could see red on green (e.g., red paint markings on golf course grass) he couldn't at all. So, no messenger shooting (we can always shoot you for some other transgression later).

It coulda been someone with perfect color vision who mixed the Mexican and Irish flags. For all we know, it coulda been 'Zilla feeling Irish just because he was sharing a bottle of Old Bushmills with OM or Papa Chuy. That could confuse anyone.

And I'll bet a 100 Euros neither Old Michael O'Keeffe and ShinyPartsUp McNamara have ever turned down Bushmills Black Bush, Aye!

When I flew out of Iraq we went to Egypt and got on a charter flight that then went to Shannon Airport for refueling. We were able to get off the plane for a couple of hours and wander around the airport. It was after midnight but there was a bar/kiosk open, but I had no money. A couple of older irish guys bought me my first, second and third beer in many months. Erin go Bragh!!!!

Not to put too fine a point on it, John, but we are talking about the Irish here. Unlike the Canuckistanis with their beer, the scotch snobs, Californicator wine snobs, etc., the Irish will drink anything . . . so long as it has ethanol in it.
