A Lucky pilot & an Unlucky bike!

I've never seen a bike tear itself apart like that...

I saw it happen at Mid Ohio several years ago. Eric Bostrom was out on some qualifying laps on a 750 Kawi superbike(yes, it was a while back) and he came around turn 1 too hot and lowsided it. Same results, the bike caught on something, started flipping end over end and basically disintegrated. Eric slid to stop, ran over to the fence, hopped over and ran back to the pits. A few minutes later he was out on his backup bike. I'm pretty sure he qualified on the front row! I wish I'd had a camera with me.
