Late last month, I lost my dad, who lived in Leesburg, FL. In the following week, besides having to make arrangements for my dad and about a million other things, I had to clean out his house, load mostly all of his stuff on a truck and drive it back to Chicago. I posted up on the forum, looking for some help loading the truck and within a few hours BuilderBob responded with an offer to help.

Not only did Bob ride an hour to get to Leesburg on a Thursday morning, he worked like a dog helping me load heavy furniture in the usual Florida heat. When we were done, I offered him some money for his time and trouble. He graciously returned it to me and told me to do something nice for someone else with it.

I just thought everyone should know what a great guy BuilderBob is. And for his selfless generosity, I just wrote a check to the Lance Corporal Jordan C. Haerter Memorial Fund in his name.

Thanks again, Bob. You helped me get through one of the roughest weeks of my life.

I am truly sorry for your loss, but what an awesome gesture.

As was said already: Bravo! :clapping:

Kudos to my fellow DeLandite! Bob lives in my home town. I'm an expat Floridian.

Way to go Bob! And way to go Lar! Thanks for the uplifting post.

Condolences regarding your loss, but the contribution to Axeman's fund sure is a noble gesture.

Thanks for taking the time to write that up, Larry.

You and Bob are living it in the most real way you can live it.

Nicely done.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your dad Lar. :( Seriously...if you need anything or wanna get together for pizza or coffee...

Big kudos to Bob for service rendered to a brother in need...

Finally, the gift is a magnificient gesture that does many things...

- it recognizes Bob's service to a friend in great need

- it salutes Jordan -a brave American and fine son to one of our own

:clapping:

Great thread in many ways.

WOW! I don't know what made me more emotional, the fact that Bob would offer up his help to you so unselfishly or the fact that Jordan's Fund has now grown because of it.

I just got back last night from a memorial service that was held for Jordan at Camp Lejeune and have been slowly wading through the many posts I missed. This one and the one regarding WHEATON's crash have really gotten to me. I really need to take some time to think of how I can repay the many people from this forum who have offered up their help.....

Many thanks to Bob and Larry for their good deeds.

This post says it all for me also. Feels great to part of a forum with such great members. :clapping:

Aw shucks.

Glad to help a fellow forum member in need. I am honored, Larry, that you chose to make a donation to such a worthy cause in my name. I'm also glad to have met you and your sister. Wish it could have been under different circumstances. Hope to catch up with you again in the future.

Ride safe.

Sorry about the loss of your father. Thank you Builderbob for helping and donating to a very good cause. This forum is full of great people and I am happy to be a part of it.

I think I can speak for everyone here - you don't have to pay any of us back. Your gratitude is more than enough. Paying it forward, like Larry did, is a great way to live life.

Sum-*****!! You guys are both awesome. Good Karma abounds!

And Chris, don't fret the repayment. That's not what this life's about, man.

It will all come around, each to his own. Good times to come...

Condolences Lar, and I am so humbled and privledged and honored to have such good friends....We is truly blessed. And I am thankful. So many good folks here....

Bobby
