I woke up around 7 this morning and crawled downstairs for some coffee and a quick fix on the internet. While taking a quick peek at the FJR forum, I got a PM from Ghostrider, asking me if I'd like to join him and Slappy for a quick run around San Diego County.

Why not, eh?

So a quick change of clothes, and I'm out the door to meet up with Dave (GhostRider) and Jerry (Slappy). Fourty-five minutes later, I finally roll up to a Santee Starbucks and there they are, patiently waiting for my arrival. A quick cup o' joe, and we're on our way.

Points of interest over the day were Dudlee's Bakery, Meas Grande road over to the Hideout and Lake Henshaw, Julian for lunch, and Laguna Mountain for...well...just because. A fun ride was had by all.

Since I can't tell a tale for squat, here are some pictures.

Our first stop in Ramona for some seriously needed music adjustment:

On down the Mesa Grande road to the Hideout, a favorite of thirsty Harley riders all over San Diego County:

Back over the Mesa Grande road to Julian, we make a quick stop:

Jerry in a contemplative moment:

Off to Julian for lunch, and then back on the road toward Laguna Mountain. But maybe a quick pit stop before we get to Laguna:

Its was a lot of fun despite the heat on the way home. Thank you both for a very enjoyable day.

Hey guys-

those are some very nice pics! I am amazed the grass is still so green this late, and since it has been so hot.

I was down that way Sunday.

I came down 405 to the 5, over Ortega Hwy (stopped at the lookout) down the back side by Elsinore. Then down the 15 to route 79 up to Julian and back out 78 to the west.

This was my first long ride on my new FJR, about 350 miles.

Man it was frickin hot. if the thermostat is correct, it was over 100 degrees for 90% of the ride.

finally cooled a bit when I got back to Oceanside.

I am trying to join the ride this weekend, need to check that thread.
