A short European tour

July,26th,early in the morning we started our trip

1 Yamaha 1300 FJR Automatic

1 BMW 1600 GTL

Still darf,bages are loaded and ready to ride.

Here the starting KM

Meeting with my friend Göksel and road to POZANTI highway

Morning is still fresh, 14 degrees celcius,we put our light jackets on

We have a nice breakfest .

Road to Ankara, the capital of Turkey

Lunch and some rest at a shopping center ARMADA in Ankara.

We spent a night at Sapanca Lake, too tired to take a photo. Only breakfest views.

We arrive at Tekirdag Golden Yat Hotel. (https://www.goldenyat.com/ )

Good hotel,private parking,nice boss and smiling staff.1 double room included breakfest 50 euros.

Morning raod to İpsala customs, gate to Greece.

It is too hot, 34 degrees celcius,we enter to Kavala and stay in a good restaurant.No pictures of the city as it is too hot, we stay sitted and take pictures of the table.

2 hours after a good rest, road to Thessaliniki.

Arriving at 18:00 at Hotel El Greco ( https://www.hotelelgreco.gr/ ) 3 satrs

Double room included breakfest 65 euros + parking 5 euro/day.

Hotel is well located on the roof we have a good view of the city.

We go out for a dinner at Kitchen Bar,where all the beautifull girls are,Unfortunatly we are with our wifes. (https://www.kitchenbar.com.gr/html/index3-en.htm )

Good dinner,good ambiance and good price.

At 09:30 ;we drive to Ohrid/Macedonia and arriving at 13:30.total 320kmNice roads.

Road to Zagreb/CROATIOA,400 km,the weather is too much hot,we drive 100km and stop for half hour,drinking water and eating chocolat,wifes are starting to complain about trip.

1 double room: 85 euro,free Wi-Fi and free parking.

Road to Rijeka – Optahja – Lovran. 200 km

Hotel Excelsior, 1 double room incl.breakfest (superb breakfest) 89 euro.

We spend 2 nice days and have a good rest and nice Adriatic sea.

A nice rain ,we loved it after the hot days..

Road to Venezia/ITALY 350 km

Hotel Elite 1 double room incl breakfest 74 euros free Wifi and parking.( https://www.elitehotel.it/ ) 4 stars..

We visit Venezia.

The weather is too hot, our wifes say they can not continue in such conditions so we agreed to return.We decide to send our motocycles by ship and us by plane.Nothing to do, orders are coming directly from our CEO's.

Views from Trieste/ITALY.

We load our motorcycles to RoRo ship on 07.08.2011 at Trieste port .

Total is 3,618 KM, not too much.

Fantastic Ride Report and Photographs Oktay, Thank You for sharing them with us! Motorcycling Turkey, Greece, Croatia, Serbia and Slovenia; these are all Beautiful Dreams on my Motorcycling Bucket List. I hope to ride them all before I finally check out.

Spent 2 years stationed at Augsburg, DE in the US Army. A few GI's drew Temporary Duty Assignments to Turkey and I was always begging my Colonel to assign me to Turkey for awhile. It never happened and I still want to travel through Turkey by bike!
