My condolences to you. I know the pain of losing brothers at arms all too well. I can't imagine losing a son, and then someone with whom that son served. For me, there's nothing more difficult than rendering that final salute.

::salute::

SGT Martinez, OIF3 & OIF5. 3/3ID.

A tribute like you have never seen.....

Over 60 police motorcycles, 100 cruisers from all over the state, 1000's of Police Officers, PGR members, 10's of thousands of Cape Codders lining the 30 some odd mile route to the cemetary, probably 3-4000 at the wake, countless volunteer fire departments, the governor of MA and John Kerry in attendance, 5 tour buses for invited guests, etc.....A fitting send off for a fine young man and "good" Marine, Cpl. Nicholas G. Xiarhos

Hats off to the Yarmouth PD who provided extremely professional police escort to me, my family, and the 26 1/9 Marines in attendance whereever we went and to the local FD's for providing food, water, medical assistance, and overall support to the masses.

Thanks for posting that youtube link. You can see the shock and sadness in the family's faces. I feel a part of that pain...and remember that another man is down. Doing his duty. :(

Godspeed to him and his family. May they find the support that they need.

I think the president should look into the eyes of every Gold Star parent, offer condolences and humbly thank them for their sacrifice.

Thank you for the info, Axe.

So you know, even though this thread and your loss has gained time, remembering and honoring your son and our collective hero I offer my condolences in the most sincere and heart felt way. I thank each and every service man and woman I see for the job they do. MCRD and MCAS are but twenty miles from me so I see, and thank many. Thank you parents for your son....

May God bless his passing and bring death & destruction to his enemies.

Semper Fi Nicolas...rest easy. You've earned it. We've got the line.

Ranger Wee Willy

It's NOT enough to just support the troops. Try supporting the mission too.
