I wish I had my Vulcan 500 back.
Not permanently mind you. Maybe just long enough for a ride.
I haven't ridden in seven weeks. This is the longest I've been off a bike in many years. Technically, I've been on a bike several times in the last month, but riding pillion doesn't count in my book.
My shoulder is on the way to heals-ville, but I don't have the strength needed to push the FJR in and out of its parking spot.
I might have the strength to handle the much lighter Vulcan. I'm certainly desperate enough for a ride to give it a try.
Although, "to give it a try" would be a bad idea, as strength isn't the only issue. I haven't recovered to the point where I have good range-of-motion in the shoulder. Standing on the left side of the bike, and extending my right arm to just touch the throttle is problematic.
Going for a ride is contraindicated by both my doctor and my fencing instructor. My fencing instructor is not a shoulder injury expert, but has first-hand experience with not following doctor's instructions. Not that I've been able for fence for the same seven weeks.
That's also getting annoying, but I don't crave to handle a rapier the way I crave to pilot a bike.
The floor is now open for mocking the whiner. (No, really. It is.)
