got the new battery installed, bike started after about 2 seconds of cranking after sitting in unheated bar since last October.

Checked tire pressures and service log to make sure I changed the oil and filter last fall.

Good to go.

46 degrees, lots of sand on the roads. everything still brown and wet and dead looking ... AND IT WAS STILL GREAT TO BE RIDING AGAIN! love the heat off my Gen 1 FJR.

now she's ready for another year starting with this weekend when it's supposed to reach the upper 60's. still need a hard rain to wash all the winter crap off the roads.

Good for you! I remember the days of having a "first ride" each spring. I grew up and lived in MN for the first half of my life, and left when I was 30. I have to say that I don't miss winterizing my bike each year.

Get out and ride while you can!! :yahoo:

You are correct, that first ride in Minnesota is great. Been riding for the past month in Minneapolis. When you get those days above 40 degrees you start to get the itch to go riding!!!! I did!
