This is to correct an earlier FUBAR mistake I made in describing the problem. It was NOT the ABS light. It was the engine light. Please forgive me. :(

In 2006, one time, and then again, last night, after a long ride, the ABS yellow engine light came on when I was backing the bike into a parking spot and had the bars to full right. Then the light goes off when I move them back to the center.

When I parked, I cut ignition. Then restarted it. Light would not come back on with bars at full right.

No other symptoms or signs. Bike runs like stallion. Dealer could find no problem back in 2006.

Bike is 2005 ABS model.

Anyone have a thought?

Too much tension on the wiring harness going to the ignition switch. Full-right lock on bars put even MORE tension on the harness, causing a momentary discontinuity in the harness.

Description HERE.

Thaty's my thought, FWIW.

Although there is certainly merit in what RadioHowie has to say, I noticed in your post that your bike is a 2005.

I have never noticed any issue like yours on my 2005, but one area you may want to inspect is the main harness connection. More on that here:

Not sure if this will correct the issue you report, but given the vintage of your FJR, it would not hurt to inspect this harness connection anyway.

My two cents. I'm hoping you get this resolved!!
