...,all I could do was shack my head.
Hey Trim,

I know you've had a bad day and all...but you don't ever want to shack your head. :uhuh:

That's gonna leave a mark for sure... :D :D

Okay...so I don't know what that means, but all the best to you and yer missus from Wheaton.

Thanks for the humor wheat,I sure don't want to shack my headLOL.

Glad she is doing ok. I can sympathize with your wife on the broken ribs, from my recent low side I have at least 5 maybe 6 broken. They hurt all the time from breathing, getting in and out of bed, raising your arm everything. The hydrocodone 2 pills works wonders to the point that I almost think I am healed they work so well, when they wear off though, look out.

Accidents get to our heads more than the pain when the healing is over.

My dirt bike accident I know exactly what I did that was wrong and I have worked on that extensively, not hitting the front brake out of fear.

My recent low side in some ways is much harder to deal with because of 2 reasons.

I never saw the fine gravel that took me out.

Second I went into oncoming traffic and looking back I don't think I had the skill to avoid that.

In the future I will be seaking out ways to increase my skill in this area and the SuperBike school with their different training bikes just might be it.

Glad she is ok!

Trimmantom, good to hear Glenda's doing okay-wishing her a speedy recovery!!

A month ago I was riding with a couple friends and one went down after hitting some large gravel in a turn and struck a 4" x 4" sign post, suffering some life-threatening injuries. My 911 calls got dropped twice, 3rd one finally got through, had some locals stop to help and luckily we were able to get the rider air-lifted before he got any worse.

This was sure a eye-opening experience to our group, and definately shows how quick that nice ride can turn to sh!t in a hurry!

Sorry to hear about your wife's accident. Can't imagine how you must have felt riding back and wondering what had happened.

Hope she recovers really quick.

Trim, You probably went through the worst part of the whole scenario. Not really being able to help a wounded loved one is a horrible feeling. I'm glad she's mendable. There really are alot of nice folks out there in the world, even today, as you have seen. Best wishes. ps telling jokes to her right now and making her laugh is considered cruel and unusal punishment... :)

+1... the ride back to her had to seem like a lifetime.
And your avatar Tel... I'm glad those *aren't* brains. :dribble:

Get well Glenda...

This too shall pass. Glad to hear it's not worse than described. Take this opportunity to relax, the bike can be repaired.

trimmer dude, cant believe I have to here about glenda's low side on the dang forum. hope all is well. just left a message at your house for you to call me. Your son told me she broke a rib...Your weekend was not as bad as you think. Any M/C crash that you can walk away from is a good thing. Dont tell Glenda any good jokes or suggest that she chills out and takes a deep breath. Least not anytime soon. call me on the cell on tuesday if you can. Hey man as a side note....Wonder who is more pissed about going down this weekend, Glenda or Nicky.........

Well wishes to both of you.

You have already posted the cause of the prob and didn't know it...

She was on a Beemer :D

I was out for a short ride today and saw the aftermath of bad bike accident.

Women rider also. She failed to make a right, crossed into left lane and hit gaurdrail hard.

She was really messed up, but still breathing. We cut her chinstrap and backpack off carefully.

They were binding. Didn't move her otherwise.

Her left leg was broken, foot was twisted way beyond normal.

Medics arrived and she started to wake up. Thats when pain hit her.

Don't know the outcome, but I think she'll be OK..Got the helicopter ride no one wants.

BE CAREFULL.

It always sucks to hear about a rider going down . my prays go out to your wife and your self . shes should be up and around in no time .Good thing nobody was close behind here could of been alot worse ............Mike (ZORKLER)

Thanks again for all the wellwishers,we appreciate all the nice comments.

I just got back from the doctors office and he told her to get a ribwrap bandage and take her medicine and stay out of work for at least a week.He also told her it would get worse before it got better because everything got comppressed and over time would go back to normal but the process was slow.

He went on to explain the purpose of taking the medicine religously would allow her to cough and clear her lungs, otherwise you can develop pneumonia and land in the hospital.

She didn't want to go to the doctor but woke up with more pain then before and that convinced her to get her butt to our regular doctor.

I had the insurance adjuster over yesterday and got the repair quote and it came to app. $2400 minus our$500 deductable.Get this the parts allowance was for almost $2200 with a little over a $100 for labor.

Does anyone think tha BMW dudes are gonna tear that bike down and replace the parts for a $100.

I don't think so.I've got to talk to the insurance guy about that. If you looked at the bike you wouldn't think there was that much damage. But anyway I was planning on doing the repairs myself.I took the bike out yesterday for a short ride and it runs fine and tracks straight at 75 mph. They're also alowing up[ to $400 for a new helmet. Thanks again for the support,Glenda read everything and was very appreciative.

If/when you file a claim, don't forget to include her helmet and any gear that was damaged...

So a week off work, how bad is that?? Sounds like you have things under control. Rib injuries suck, you can't do anything for them but take it easy.

Get her some good take-out, kick back and watch some movies. I suggest:

Worlds Fastest Indian, On Any Sunday, Faster, Long Way Around :)

I am very very surprised a doctor recommended rib wraps.

I have broken ribs many times from dirt, street, martial arts, football, etc over the years.

Every doc has made it a point to tell me not to wrap my ribs.

You want to take deep full breaths so that the ribs don't heal in such a way that would limit your full lung capacity.

I would seriously ask more about this. I have never used wraps!!!
