Just bought my first Suzuki, a 2009 DL650, non-ABS. So far so good. Check the link for pics. Any suggestions on how to begin the farkling(like I have no prior experience!!)

Bought this as a backup ride in case for my 06 AE which is undergoing a main electrical wiring harness change, is not IBR worthy come this August.

You'll have a bit less room for the extra wiring, etc., for all of your electrical farkles. I foresee a phone call to the Hondarosa and a looong conversation with dcarver.

Congratulations on the purchase, Dave. :clapping:

Good job Dave. Maybe you should have gone for the 1000 considering all the stuff you will add to it. Keep us posted with pics. :yahoo:

Very nice looking bike. I saw a guy on one in Maryland & notice it sure isn`t no small bike (tall seat hight)

That's awesome Turbo!!! :clapping:

When are we gonna get hopelessly lost on some ancient logging road? I almost bought Glenn's Rhino-skinned girl-strom ;) when I found the Beemer. Nice bikes.

I believe Craig rode a well-farkled WeeStrom in the UpChuck 1000. Doug or RJ may know how to get hold of him.

There was someone at NAFO last year that had just came back from Alaska IIRC. (Sorry, never got the chance to meet the lad.)

Don't forget to check out these sites: StromTrooper and VStrom Riders International.

Looks like there's a Strom brewing here too.

Congrats Turbo!

I'm still here OldMichael and if you can keep your wheels on the pavement long enough to make it to Idaho in July, I'll see you there. (I still owe ya a beer.)

Thanks for the link. Alaska is on my long list of places I want to ride in.

I would have to defer to BrianR, RenoJohn (both on DL1000's, but similar enough) and the likes for the real LD farkles. My approach has been quite minimalist on the DL actually. Because it's primarily been for backroad 2UP touring so I've kept weight to a minimum... The only electrical mod has been hooking up a plug for the battery charger/tire pump...

I'd be glad to help you with the shake-down though. We can do the Up-Chuck again. Maybe this time over the course of about three days... :dribble:
