While having a rather interesting debate on one of my female friends the other day, the wife decides to tell me about an impending change in our vacation plans. It seems the plans we were making for her 35th birthday will be put aside for awhile. When she says "Don't bother making any plans for my b-day, we've got better things to do then". I asked what was better than Hawaii or a 4 corners tour, her answer"A baby!" :dribble:

She's about a month along w/ a very unexpected pregnancy, we were hoping to start around her b-day, but life does what it wants, when it wants. So sometime in july/august I'm gonna be a dad!

Dog help us all, if they're anything like me!

My unplanned (but so very welcome) little one comes sometime around January 25th. Sometimes life does exactly what it wants. A friend told me recently that my problem was that I had a plan. I had finally, finally, got my **** together, had a great plan for most everything in my life until retirement age, and then boom. I'm gonna be a first-time dad at 43.

Welcome to the club! Congrats!

Big congratulations to both of you. If it were not for my wife, I don't think I would have had kids. But now, 3 daughters later, they are the best thing ever. And don't worry Medic...If you think you were bad, your own child will make your head spin...Just remember that they all do that, so you are not alone. Oh...and they don't come with instructions, so basically your fooked into making decisions with very little knowledge about what havoc that decision will make. And you'll love every minute of it.

Congratulations to you both.

Parenthood totally changed my life, and definitley for the better. Sure it's tough, but the benefits far outweigh the minor inconveniences.

Enjoy.

Congratulations.

At first I couldn't understand what this baby stuff was all about. Then suddeny you're explaining the finer techniques of football to a munchkin who's just staring at you and you get it.

Enjoy bringing this new person into what your life is.

Bob

Congratulations on the addition to 2 families(evilmedic and hecpilot)!

Your lives will never be the same....

....and it's a good thing! Raising my daughter made me a better man.

Here are two salient thoughts:

1.) You Will survive the parenting experience.

2.) THEY will survive your parenting experience.

If you end up with a little boy, watch out when you take the diaper off. Never ceases to amaze how quickly a little exposure to fresh air translates to pee all over the place! :)

Congrats all, enjoy the experience!

Wiser words were never spoken typed in a forum.

Congrats to the homes with impending diaper services... :)

Congrats, Medic. Welcome to parenthood.

Oh, yes, in case you were wondering, it doesn't wait until the bundle of joy arrives, it starts now!!

My oldest (of 3 chillin's) is expecting our 2nd grandchild in about the same time frame.

Which just goes to show that anyone can get through those child rearing years. ;)

Congratulations!

Remember to put the medic in you aside (unless absolutely necessary) and just be a Dad. It's going to be the wildest ride in your life, with ups and downs that nothing else can rival. Thought you loved your wife a lot? just wait until the kid arrives. You're going to love them both ten times more.

Jill
