The following is absolutely true:
When we bought the computer I am typing on right now, it came wiht AOL On Line. So, we booted up and opened the AOL account. Two days later, the computer crashed. So, my wife called Dell. In the next two days, she spend about 6 hours on the phone with someone from India and nothing was solved. I am less patient, so I called on day three.
I explained the trouble and the tech support guy told me to do everything my wife had already done. Of after about three of these attempts, I told him it had already been done and the computer was not going to fix itself. He decided that he did not need to help me anymore and transfered me to someone here in the US in customer service. After about 5 minutes I told the person on the phone that I wanted a new computer. She refused, so I told her that I was going to put this computer in a box and put it out on the porch. I told her that they had better come get it before it got stolen and reminded her that I had not paid for anything yet so they could shove the entire thing up their a** if it disappeared...Two days later, a very nice tech with a new hard drive fixed our computer.
She told us that AOL gets hacked so often its like a running joke. We immediatly removed AOL from our new drive and have been trouble free ever since.
