Desperately need advice here...

My new FJR has big gobs of melted boot heel on the mufflers on both sides just aft of the passenger pegs. The heel rests/guards are even smashed down against the mufflers(this woman weighs 98#). Had the same problem on my old Valkyrie but it didn't matter much there cause it was so old and ragged. I gently tried to mention it to my woman and it was obvoius that any further discussion would lead to a domestic relations crisis( I am generally timid about this sort of thing as I am recovering from having been battered in a previous relationship). I really need to hold onto this woman as it is hard to find any woman at my advanced age especially one that weighs less than about 240...

Maybe I should be on a domestic relations crisis site with this?

Help

Joe

So..............

Are you looking for an answer on how to tactfully advise your companion to stop screwing up your clean bike and avoid injury??

Or.........are you looking for another woman who wont mess up your bike??

Or are you looking for a solution of how to remove her sole souvenires??

Oops. Seems I didn't read thoroughly. I now see that you're looking for something to keep the passenger from muckin' up the pipes.

Carry on.

EDIT: There's always THIS solution.

Easy-off oven cleaner will get rid of the rubber, but from personal experience, it will also brighten the metal, so you might wind up doing the whole can.

This happened once with my wife, when I first got my '07. Her heels were too tall, and came in contact with the exhaust. She doesn't like melting shoes on a bike, so she took to wearing a pair of boots with less heel.

Buy another valkyrie for 2- up, remove the pillion seat and pegs on the FJR and drop a Nelson- rigg tailbag in the hole.

Worked for me :)

OMG, take her shopping and get her somthing more bike friendly. If she's gonna be mad over somthing like this then settle for a REASONABLE 240# and dont stress over loosing a women that probably isnt worth having to begin with.

After 62 years I have yet to figure this woman thing out. Very complex and troublesome yet we keep at it...not smart. It's like my wire hair terrier...he tries but can't learn.

A useful suggestion, but a different track worked, around here.

I bought my wife a convertible, and she's lost all interest in riding on bikes, since.

Knifemaker has some passenger floor boards for sell in the Parts and accessories seection. I dont know if that is what you are looking for.
