Congrats to Bama for playing one of the most difficult schedules in the nation this past year, going undefeated, and winning the nat'l title. They beat 7 top 20 teams this year. They annihilated last year's nat'l champion. They made high-school mistakes during the 1st qtr of tonight's game, played ultra-conservative in the 3rd qtr, and when it mattered stepped up to the plate in the 4th qtr and delivered the knock-out blow. Congrats to Bama's defense as being extremely consistent and successful all season, and congrats to entire team for achieving the mark of one of the fewest penalized teams in the country. Bama is the first team this year to destroy Texas' stat as one of the most selfish run defenses in the country.

Hats off to Texas for never giving up and rallying behind the unexpected placement of their freshman quarterback.

Bama has won the first BCS title game in the Rose Bowl. The SEC is the first conference to win 4 straight nat'l titles. Bama is one of 5 teams to have a player win the Heisman award and then win the following nat'l title game. Congrats to Bama for their first victory over Texas.

My Crimson Tide has beat the prior 4 nat'l champions in the SAME YEAR!!!

And since I predicted in September Bama would win the nati'l title here on this forum as well as predicting Ingram (Oct or Nov) would win the Heisman award - this post is to all the doubters. B)

Roll Damn Tide Roll.

ahhh, no that would be Texas that won the first BCS title game in the Rose Bowl. Maybe you missed that, the million times they mentioned it last night. ;)

Congratulations on a great season, Alabama! :drinks:

*not a UT or Bama fan*

Last night sucked balls without McCoy in there.

Still it's part of the game and them's the breaks. Grats to Bama for taking care of it.

Personally, I think with McCoy UT handles Bama. Maybe not by a lot, but comes out with the W. Without McCoy, well, you saw the results. Both D's were playing up and IMO UT was doing better on D than Bama especially given the circumstances.

PS: The Heisman is a worthless piece of garbage. If it were not a worthless P.O.G., it would have been awarded to Gerhart - period. His stats were better, his play was better, he was more important to the success of his team, and he was chosen to be the better RB in FBS (winner of the Doak Walker). There are 900+ voters in the Heisman. Most are from podunks you ain't never heard of nor cared about. It's a complete joke and needs to be cleaned up.

Oops! Yeah, misread the stat on that one. That historical mark goes to Texas.

Yeah it sucks that McCoy was out of the game. But it's part of the game and no one knows if TX would have won with him in there or not. Ingram left the Auburn game in the first 10 mins due to a hip injury. Would that game would have been different if he stayed in? Who knows...but Bama still found a way to win on a final drive in the 4th qtr that sealed the deal.

Not to knock Texas because they are a great team. But in the 4th qtr when it the nat'l title was on the line Alabama earned the victory. Championship teams ALWAYS find a way to win...regardless.
